A very old and run down Queensland outback pub. Staff were friendly enough and at $59 per night you probably can't ask for much more. You just need to know what you are paying for before booking. If you are happy with knowing, it's very basic pub accommodation with shared facilities - all good.
The only reason to stay at this old and poorly maintained hotel is the daily chicken racing at 5 pm. This was unique and good fun.
The hotel was cheap and for that you got poor shared facilities, We didn’t eat at the pub but the actual room was one of the worst I’ve ever been in.
Stayed here for 1 night after driving from Brissy, pub is ok with standard country pub features. The accommodation rooms are run down and in very poor condition. The aircon sounded like it might fall out of the window and the bed was not confrtable at all. The saving grace is the price. Very cheap so you gey what you pay for.
This is a very old hotel that has not been modernised or had any work done in many years. The rooms was small bed against the wall smelled musty the shared bathrooms were awful dark stained not usable. We left and did not stay.
Give landlord his due he did not charge us when we said all to him.
Room includes a plastic chair no table, cupboard, shelf or bedside lamp. Only sheer curtains on windows. Shared bathroom was disgusting, could not bring myself to use it at all. Food was also very ordinary with frozen vegetables still frozen.
I love everything except the weak Wifi and no phone signal

Overnight stay
The hotel is a little rustic and the facilities could do with some upgrading.
The staff are very friendly and the food and beer were good.
For an overnight stay it is value for money.
A warm welcome greeted us at The Royal Carrangarra Hotel. The publican Ben runs a fun crew including laugh a minute chicken races in aid of the Royal Flying Doctors. This is rural country pub hospitality, not The Ritz and the atmosphere is superb. Will be back!
Nice friendly welcome with nice staff but the room was a disgrace. The floor was not only dirty but had bits of fluff and paper all over it. It had not seen a vacuum cleaner for weeks and behind the bed was indescribable. The pillows were terrible, the sheets had holes in them and between the sheets was long human hair. I don't belive they had been changed from the last guest. I could not bear the thought of touching any of it so slept in my clothes on top. The toilets were stained from last century and had that unclean look about them. The showers were no better and I chose not to use them. Ok, the pub is old but I've stayed in older with far better facilities. New sheets, new pillows, clean the floor, spend some money on the bathroom facilities. And dont start with you get what you pay for. It doesn't take much to have respect for your guests.

The staff are friendly, the food was delicious, the eating area, cutlery and crockery were clean. This is a 70 year old pub and it's in an outback town, so you should expect 'character' if you stay here for the night. This would have been a grand building in 1951 and it's worth a look at the big verandahs and polished floors and the stairway upstairs, but be aware that the accommodation and ablutions are run down and patchy, but cheap and better than sleeping in a tent.
If that rooster that crowed all night is not a family pet, they should cook the blighter.

overnight stop
Room and shared bathrooms very basic but OK for the price. We had a great meal in the restaurant and was very well priced.
The hotel has obviously seen better days but for the overnight price asked with a shared bathroom one should not be expecting too much more.
Staff was friendly and they has a chook race at the back to raise money for the Flying Doctor service. Food was ok and the special beer brew was quite enjoyable

Great way to experience an outback country town.
We enjoyed the stay, it was a stop overnight on a road trip. It's an old country pub, just as you would expect it to be. It has a lot of character, the locals too.
It's not five star, but it's everything you'd expect it to be.
zit's a great place to stop and experience a stay in a real country pub in real country pub style.
