"Clean, Downside: no bathtubs in room. Would have been helpful if we had known beforehand that there was a shared outdoor bath that needed swimsuits. Appreciated the complimentary snacks from 3-7pm. Breakfast - inadequate toaster service, and disappointed that there were barely any fresh fruits except pineapples and frozen mangoes on repeat for 3 days: Laundry - only 3 machines available,"

"Perfectly located in town for sightseeing as it is right next to the train station and bus terminal! There’s restaurants and grocery store near by to buy food and cook! Also love the washer/dryee, it’s so convenient to have one in the room (family apartment) and very quiet when it runs!"

"Excellent location, right in the heart of Old Town. The room and bathroom were both a great size, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I also loved the complimentary sake tasting offered from 5:00 p.m. The city was a wonderful surprise, and I would definitely come back. And when I do, I would happily stay at this hotel again!"

"We were made to feel exceptionally welcomed on arrival by the staff. The place was comfortable and clean, the staff extremely attentive, and we were provided with every amenity required. We felt that the offer of the Yukatas and sleeping garments were really considerate. We enjoyed the carefully curated dishes for dinner. Really exceptional service, this is how luxury travel used to feel and sadly has been lost in many places in more modern times. Highly rated. Takayama was the highlight of our visit."
