The room was small with little space to repack. The location was very clean. Staff were especially courteous and spoke English with ease. Very convenient to Takayama train station.

I booked the hotel in July for a stay in mid Nov. because I wanted a non-smoking room. They never bothered to answer and as a result I should have cancelled and looked for a different hotel. I didn’t cancel because I trusted they would be able to change my room before my stay. When I arrived, I discussed this issue with the front desk and they just said they had no other room. When I got to my room, I realized there were no towels in my bathroom. That was another back and forth situation as their English was not good. A hotel that has no English staff or even one English TV Channel should not be sold to Americans! Out of my one month in Japan, I have to say that this was my worst hotel choice and would recommend to others to stay away.

An old and bit run down property with rooms on the small side but I found the hotel comfortable and had everything I needed for a 2 night stay where I was out and about all day… just needed somewhere to put my head down at night. Noise from neighbouring rooms was easily heard at all hours. I slept with the window ajar for fresh and cool air. I’d stay there again if travelling by myself and budget was a factor.

Above average rooms are small but comfortable. Close to rail station. Walkable distance to old town. Only complaint beds and pillows very firm. Yes I would stay here again.

Steps from JR train and bus station. Super easy for day tripping. Free breakfast was super delicious (fish, pork, egg, rice, veggies, miso soup, croissants, jelly, apple juice, coffee, tea) the room is normal by Japanese standards but westerners may find it small. I don’t mind. I just need bed shower and toilet. The breakfast, location to transportation and price made this a great choice

Avoid this hotel!!! Don’t stay !
It was the worst hotel of my life. The first room we got had a bathroom that was smelling like urine. We changed room , but the situation was not much better. The bathroom is disgusting. A bus station bathroom smells better than this hotels bathroom. The bed is very hard and uncomfortable. The pillow seems like there are rocks on it. The walls are dirty. The carpet is dirty. The room is super tiny. If you have luggage you will struggle to move around the room and to open doors. It was a nightmare. The city was basically fully booked and I had a short stay, otherwise I would have changed hotels. Very bad experience Avoid at all costs ! Really really bad and disgusting.

Staff were very helpful. Washing machines onsite very handy. Convenience store just below the hotel. Parking lot is very difficult to find in the dark as not near the hotel. Room was ok (the smallest we stayed in on our trip). Breakfast was not very appetising.

The hotel would simply ignore everything you request. I am a non-smoker and requested a non-smoking room and a parking spot upon my arrival a month ago, but then they just can’t care less. I also asked for another room key, and got rejected somehow. The room and the furniture are very old, positively thinking Japan things are really durable. I am a frequent Japan traveler and I guess this hotel gave the worst experience so far.

Two minute walk from the train and bus station. I was late booking this property for the festival and had to reserve a smoking room. Pleasantly surprised that I couldn’t smell any smoke.

The shower curtain was moldy and i had to ask for a new one. The staff was great and change it right away. The bldg. Is old and needs to be renovated. Do expect a lot from a low fee per night. Food was ok if you are not picky bec. It is a traditional japanese breakfast.

Nice hotel in a nice location
Located across the street from the JR station/bus station (which is about 10 minutes away from the markets and things to do in town). Very nice breakfast buffet. The front desk staff are very helpful and can provide a map with multiple dinner options highlighted. Decent wifi.

It’s a good place to stay and they have very supportive staff. It’s located near to the Hida Folk Village. Therefore we were able to access there easily. So I recommended this hotel for people to stay and enjoy the day.

A Stone thru away from Takayama JR station and bus station. Very suitable fir those take Takayama as based camp and travel to other nearby tourist spots. We book 2 twins beds, the room space is ok. As most of the time we are outside.
