"This is a great property if you wish to explore the south side of the island, or if you have your own vehicle. Unfortunately it is NOT 2.5 miles from the airport or the cruise ship port. It is on the opposite side of the island, Depending on traffic, a 90 - 150 minute drive. $115 taxi drive. You can get a 3 day tourist bus pass for 1 franc (a bus ride is 4 francs) but the busses stop running at 4:00 local time. "Excellente option pour les voyageurs qui désirent passer quelques jours sur l'île de Tahiti. La localisation est parfaite. Près du marché, du port et des beaux magasins. On y mange très bien. La chambre que nous avions était très confortable. Le côté rue est très bruyant par contre. Il y a de la circulation toute la nuit. Le personnel est charmant et très accommodant. Nous aurions donné 5 étoiles mais il y a eu des coupures d'eau et d'électricité durant notre séjour pour cause de rénovation."

"very nice Hotel - Food was good. Restaurant staff is very nice but needs more training. Too long of a wait for service and food. Hotel was clean. Rooms were amazing. a Bit far from downtown but there is transportation(Taxi is around $40 one way to airport) Front desk staff was very accommodating and professional. Beautiful people Spa was too pricey and small."

"Adorable, newly decorated hotel. Spent one night here between flight and ferry to neighboring island. Would happily stay multiple nights. Ferry terminal is a 5 minute walk away, as is the expansive public market. We did not pony up for the continental breakfast so cannot comment on that. Room is comfortable and the bathroom has a nice walk in shower. Staff was excellent! Took advantage of the washer and dryer on the floor as well. Some noise travels easily in the hallways, I think because of the laminate floors, but this was a non factor for us. Good value! We highly recommend!"

"Pretty resort recently reopened south of the airport. Rooms are adequate with comfortable beds and good AC. Food there is very expensive and not too many walkable choices to eat nearby. Pool has sand entry. Staff is nice and helpful. Not really a swimable beach area - lagoon surrounds the over the water bungalows."

"We had a wonderful 3 night stay in the Panoramic Tree House. It was such a unique space to explore and sleep in and added so much to our stay in Tahiti. The staff were so kind, friendly and helpful with local information. The Tree House is an impeccably constructed space, with modern fixtures, air conditioning and privacy hidden inside a huge mango tree. We felt very special. Our daily breakfast with local baked goods and fresh fruits was a great way to start the day. We enjoyed a daily walk into town, to explore the town and sample various restaurants. Louis and his wife are terrific hosts and we were lucky to have this opportunity on the Island!"

Villa Mitirapa

"Overall a nice place to stay with a few caveats. Easy check-in with the keys on the counter and quick response by email. We stayed in Aura where two rooms have AC and one does not - was not a problem for our stay. The third room has a fan. The rooms have plenty of open shelf space for clothes.The deck overlooking the lagoon and private pool were favorites. There was a nice breeze during our stay. Bring bug spray though (as with most places on island). It would have been nice to have hand towels and wash clothes, not just bath and beach towels. Also, some hooks in the bedroom to hang up towels or clothes. The shower has body wash and shampoo; some shelves for personal washing supplies would be helpful. There was a lot of roof noise one particular night from what we think were birds collecting seeds from the tree overhead. Our neighbors didn't have the same foilage so this may be specific to our Villa. It bothered some of us more than others, so if you are a light sleeper, the islands of Tahiti in general can be noisy with dogs, roosters and other wildlife. The WiFi worked well but we had to request the password. This proved difficulty since we had spotty personal service. There were chocolates left for us at check-in which was a nice welcome. Thank you for sharing your Villa with us."
