"Blue Gem motel was the perfect stay for us for our weekend event at Camp Kulaqua which was only a few minutes down the road. I was a lil hesitant since it was a “motel”. However the room was nicely decorated and spacious. The bed was a super comfy king bed. I travel a lot and was impressed with how comfortable I slept. The AC was nice and cold. "The check-in process was easy. The lady asked to see my Expedia reservation so she could see how much I paid for it so she could bring it up on her machine. When she gave me my room key she told me where it was. My husband and I went into the room and discovered a bug filled stinky queen mattress leaning up against the wall in the room. The floor is still weren't swept. Then I turn down the bed to find dirt all over the sheets. I return to the front desk where the lady offered me a new set of...

"Well the room was clean. However the hotel is very old and rooms were severely outdated. Bed was hard as a rock and only offered 2 pillows for a king size bed. Would have loved more pillows. The room we stayed in the bath tub had a slope in it. I almost slid out the bathtub. I wouldn’t stay again because of those issues. But other than that it was a good stay and we didn’t see any roaches as others have commented about in reviews. "

"The room was Super Clean, Staff was very friendly. Even held my pillow for me that I left by accident. Only complaint was we could feel the springs in the mattress. Maybe a heavy cover and the a/c was loud. Didn't bother me but it did my husband."

"The night clerk was willing to accept the price for the room as it was on Expedia, however the price was $80. The night clerk explained he was not making money from a $38 rate. The room was nice and cleaned but the area outside could be cleaned up since a section of the hotel is for weekly rentals."
