This is the email sent - No response We stayed at Tollgate hotel on 12th October in room 208 after seeing the reviews and booking through expedia. It is one of the worst hotels and I stayed in and definitely not worth the £60+ I paid. Issues that we faced: It is suppose to be free wifi but we did not receive a code so could not use it. We were told on departure which was not acceptable Once the toilet flushed, it took over 20 minutes to refill to flush again - we were told on departure it is due to pumping your own water but this should be stated before booking. (I suffer with bowel problems but couldnt go as couldnt flush) The curtains didnt meet properly which means that not as much privacy - this is due to damaged rings not being taken off Some of the light bulbs didnt work and 1 didnt switch off overnight The bed was 2 singles pushed together which one was higher than the other and the pillows were as flat as a pancake We paid for breakfast but wasnt explained how it worked and what we got for our money When eating breakfast, noone came to check on us if the breakfast was ok and didnt clear our plates as they were more interested in talking and laughing in the kithcen. When I spoke to the duty manager, she did not seem shocked by some of the comments No

The friendly atmosphere of the hotel and the assistance give by Staff. This is by far one of the better hotels my Wife and I have attended. I do not think that any of things could be bettered!

Fantastic!
We were genuinely pleased with the Hotel. The check-in was smooth and very welcoming. The room was spacious and well presented. We stayed for 4 nights and will be returning and more so, will most definitely recommend!

It is nice room but
Only Nice staff in restaurants no changing for bed sheets and shower water is very slow toilet flash is not good enough

Thank you for your feedback. The sheets on the beds do not get changed for a 2 night stay generally unless specifically requested byt the guest or they are clearly dirty to look at. The shower pressure and toilet flush was investigated and the plumber was called to check for any issues.

Motel or Hotel??
On arrival we were booked into a room by 1100pm had to move because of the noise from pump house- next room,they pump there own water. The room was tired and in need of refurbishment.Mid July with souring temperatures and no air conditioning we had to have the windows open but could not sleep for the noise from other guests sat on the veranda partying . This is really a Motel and not a Hotel. Will not be staying again and would not recommend.

Bad Experience
I wasn't expecting a lot but I didn't expect to be eaten by bedbugs! If we were paying £30 per night I'd still have felt ripped off. At over £50 I was furious. In addition, we were told that a member of our party joining after 10pm wouldn't be able to check in. I had to take his key and wait up until he arrived. In short, I won't be staying again...

We are most confused by this as all our rooms are rigorously cleaned on a daily basis and no other guest has reported an incident such as this and neither did you on check out or throughout your stay. If you were so furious im sure you would have complained at reception which didnt happen. We are also unable to locate your booking as this review has been left anonymous. Our reception in the evening is also open untill 11pm and guests arriving after this are contacted and alternative arrangements are made so entry can be gained and this is also stated in our terms and conditions when a booking is made. Please if you would like to contact us so we can discuss your booking as this booking is completly untrue of the Tollgate and our facilities.

Lovely staff. Room very basic, not as advertised on Expedia site. Chose 3 beds but upon arrival informed not a 3rd bed in the room, that they would be in touch with Expedia about the photo used, it seemed that not first time this has happened. Staff set up a cot bed for me, not very comfortable but only stayed 1 night - I'd asked for upgrade but there was a wedding on. Lovely breakfast next morning.
