We stayed in Rm 1. Very nice room, comfortable bed,very polite and friendly staff and lovely breakfast . Thank you very much for nice staying!

Lovely old fashioned guest house.
Room appeared newly decorated and co-ordinated which was great. Towels rather thin, hard and tired. Maybe due for new ones. Super traditional breakfast and egg done as requested. Thank you

Lorraine, the owner is superb in her hospitality. Jovial, friendly, welcoming and all things nice. Certainly my family and I enjoyed ourselves staying there

The owner/staff were very friendly & helpful. Rooms were clean & very comfortable. Lovely old house, & the breakfast was delicious! Fantastic full veggie breakfast 😋

Great B&B, shame for Hotels' booking shambles!
Expedia sent the B&B the wrong booking, we ended up with a shared bathroom instead of an ensuite as showing on our reservation but the host showed us their message from Expedia and wasn't their fault. They did their very best to accommodate us, unfortunately there were no ensuite left either there or nearby. That said, the room was nice and there were 2 spotless bathrooms on our floor, so the shared bathroom wasn't as bad as I had feared. Breakfast was nice. I couldn't fault the place or the host in any way, what ruined our experience was the initial mistake from Hotels/Expedia and spending 1 hour on the phone with them trying (unsuccessfully) to rectify it. After much discussing and waiting on hold, we got a voucher for our next stay, although now it worries me to use Hotels again so it remains to be seen if I'll ever use it. Me and my friend were there to celebrate both our birthdays and we were disappointed by the whole ordeal, but we'd definitely stay again although we'd book the place directly to ensure we get the room we ask (and pay) for. Thanks to the staff at the hotel for their help with the matter and congrats on the level of cleaning, I've rarely seen a bathroom (and room) that spotless! Oakfield Lodge: Excellent - Hotels/Expedia: disgraceful

One night stay
Majority of stay was great, room was clean, quiet, great location, good breakfast. Negatives was the check in, had to spend quite some time convincing the person that I had already paid for my room and that it did come with free breakfast, if I hadn't been able to find the email on my phone to prove it I would have been forced to either pay for everything a second time or leave. Wasn't told anything when I checked in regarding wi-fi or whatever so assuming there wasn't any.

Hi free wifi. Sign in the hall with password etc . Re payment some people pay by virtual card some by own card sorry if there was a misunderstanding .

Overview
Nice area bit out of town! Large older house with stairs! Tv & tea facilities in room, places to eat & bus stop nearby. Good breakfast available, reasonably priced!

%mins walk to marple bridge where pubs restaurants are . and 10 min walk into Marple village . where lts to do .

An interesting building with decent carparking.The breakfast was excellent,the room was slightly dated but clean and adequate.Marple Bridge was near (but down a steep hill) where there were decent food and drink options.

Asked to pay when I already had through Hotels.com, The landlady never cam back to me. She said it was room-only when my booking included breakfast. She showed very little warmth and no apology when I turned up to breakfast one morning with the place deserted - no breakfast for me then! The room was ok but for the high price should have included ensuite so very poor value - a bit of a rip-off. Won't return there!

man muss aufpassen
Ich hatte nicht aufgepasst und bin von einem ensuite Buchung ausgegangen. Es gab aber nur einen Waschbecken im Zimmer. Toilette und Dusche waren am Gang und mussten geteilt werden. Am zweiten Tag war ich etwas verblüfft als eine weibliche Gast barfuss zum Frühstück kam.
