"Clean room, friendly staff "

"The rooms on the property are tiny, they look bigger in the pictures! The rooms are dated & dirty. I'm not sure we were actually clean after getting showered. The floor was gritty under foot and there were other people's hair all over the bathroom floor. There were a lot of mixed messages as well. When booking its advised that you can check in from 3 but check in forms we received implied you can't check in before 5. Breakfast was another mix of messages with staff not being clear either....

"We got moved room at midnight, and had to move all of our belongings because the power in our room wasn't working, which was an issue the desk knew about when they gave us the room. Then, when I attempted to get a refund on the room for the night, we were offered free breakfast, but the lady on the desk was desperate to haggle down the number of days we got it for. Just felt very cheap and really made us not enjoy the stay."

"We recently stayed at The Woburn Hotel (Luxury Cottage) and unfortunately it did not meet expectations. The staff, bar and food were all very good. However, the issue was with the accommodation itself. When booking, the photos on Expedia gave the impression that the cottages had similar features, particularly the room with the freestanding bath at the end of the bed. "The place feels more like a halfway house than a hotel. No shampoo or soap in the bathroom, room is tiny, bed is absolutely awful. Check on was basic and the whole thing feels poorly handled. Stay elsewhere if you can, the only plus is it’s near the station, but yeah, it’s a dump. "

"Staff were lovely and breakfast was well cooked. Surprised it was a buffet breakfast. We had a really good rate so absolutely no complaints. It was starting to look a little tired, with build up in the corners of the bathroom around the shower, and chips in the walls and paintwork of our room. The view on the top floor is lovely and made for a nice touch to visiting family where I’d originally grown up."
