"I have stayed at the Royal Maritime Hotel several times and will do so again. Rooms are very clean, the staff are always friendly and professional. On the most recent time, I had the breakfast whuch was excellent."

"It was our first time staying here and was looking forward to all it has to offer. On arrival booking in was via self check in and was pleasantly greeted by a member of staff at the self check in desk, check in completed and we took the lift to our room. Upon opening the door to our room we were unfortunately met with a damp musky smell..! We also noted the window open and thought just maybe the smell had come in from outside, so we shut the window and wedged the door open to try and clear the smell.. After about an hour we shut the door and after not long the smell was back unfortunately. We scanned the QR code used to send a complaint expecting someone to reply shortly but heard nothing. We were due to go out for the evening so got ready and went out, we did expect someone to reply or call us during the evening but we heard nothing. As we were only staying for the one night we didn't bother to waste our time chasing it up as we had more important things to do, so the next day we had our breakfast and left. It's now one week later and nobody has been in touch.. So has been disappointing."

"The hotel has plenty of free parking which is a bonus. However, the rooms are in need of complete refurbishment. Furniture is dated and the bathrooms need complete modernisation. While disabled travellers are welcome. None of the rooms could be considered accessible due to all bathrooms having showers over the bath and it not being possible for some wheelchair users to use. A lot of the windows have blown and the heating needs updating. I have stayed here a number of times over the last few years, but nothing changes. However, on a positive, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is good value for money. "

"A very convenient base for a short break visiting family and friends, and for business meetings in south east Hampshire. Excellent location close to motorway and rail network. Staff helpful, parking facilities great. The hotel is in need of some modernisation but the rooms and facilities were clean. Very good value for money."

"The food is ok, service a bit slow, especially when busy. The bed is the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, like sleeping on the floor it’s that hard. There were two beds in my room, both the same. "

"Extremely disappointing first stay. We arranged a 2:30pm check-in, but the accommodation was not ready until 30 mins later. On arrival, we were told to return in 10–15 minutes, only to be told again that it still wasn’t ready. This appears to be a recurring issue based on other reviews. The soft play area is outdated, dirty and unsafe, with broken equipment and a first aid box ripped off the wall. There are no safe pedestrian pathways on site; cars drive through the park from the main road, swerving around large potholes, making walking feel hazardous. There was no entertainment at all on the Sunday, which was very disappointing for families. Entertainment schedules were also changed without warning, and staff did not manage unsafe or disruptive behaviour from unsupervised children. The caravan itself had multiple issues: the front door did not lock properly, carpets were covered in dog hair, and the extractor fan above the oven was broken, causing smoke to fill the accommodation when cooking. Swimming was poorly organised. Sessions did not start on time, the lifeguard spent much of the session on his phone rather than supervising, and the changing rooms were tiny, dirty, and had no locker locks. Swimming bookings also cannot be amended via the app. Large areas of the site were flooded due to apparent drainage issues. Overall, the stay felt poorly managed and, in several areas, unsafe. We would not return unless major improvements are made."
