Hotel Keluarga di St. John's

"A unique, and uniquely warm motel that is really not comparable to any other properties. The couple that owns the motel are the main highlight: you will struggle to find more gracious, hospitable, friendly and helpful hosts anywhere in Newfoundland. The facilities are lovely and very distinct. The meals we had were excellent, including their very special (and very abundant) Jiggs Dinner which they offer every Sunday starting around noon, in the motel's main dining facility. Everyone is relaxed...

"We stayed at the hotel in the suites directly across from the main building. We were disappointed that the infinity spa was not available as advertised. We did have access to a large juzzazi tub in our room but it did not offer the same ambience we were wanting. The suites were clean but very outdated. A bar fridge was available but was noisy and leaked. We informed the front desk but no maintenance came to resolve the concern. We also required making calls to front desk to request more supplies...

"Not right downtown but only a 10 minute walk to the city center, in a nice area right on the harbour with shopping and dining relatively close. Room was adequate but only 1 chair is provided. We asked three different staff for a second chair and 3 times were told that the order of chairs had not come in yet - not sure I believed them. We were in the hotel for several days and sometimes you need a break during the day. Having 1 person have to use the bed to sit on is not an ideal option. Other...

"Had to ask for housekeeping to clean the room. The pool area was never monitored, as small kids vomited in the hot tub. As well the hot tub jets were out of service on 2 different occasions. Service at the restaurant was not the greatest. For the most part, my week went well, but this was a lot of issues for a 5 night stay."

"Last night in St. John's before flying out, selected this location because it was close for returning a rental car. Super clean and great staff turned out to be the nicest place we stayed on our 2 week trip but it's not walking friendly. 2 good chain restaurants attached to the hotel and we did walk to the mall - over 30 minutes - but unless you have a car it's too far from any tourist spots for any extended stay."
