Parkview Lodge & Cabins
10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely wonderful stay at Parkview Lodge & Cabins! My boyfriend and I had such a lovely experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. They were thoughtful enough to offer us extra towels and even provided water, which made us feel so well taken care of. What really stood out to us was how accommodating and helpful everyone was. We accidentally left my boyfriendโs pillow behind, and they were kind enough to agree to ship it all the way to us in Florida rather than simply leaving us to figure it out ourselves. That level of kindness and customer service is so rare and really says a lot about the people who run this place. The lodge and cabins made our stay feel comfortable, peaceful, and memorable. Weโre so grateful for how warmly we were treated and would absolutely 100% recommend Parkview Lodge & Cabins to anyone visiting Avery County, North Carolina. We would happily stay here again! โค๏ธ"

"Unit did not have A/C but it was comfortable during the evening hours. I would update the television in the bedroom."
Switzerland Inn
8/10 Good
"We stayed there for our 55th wedding anniversary in mid-August. The staff was excellent. The beds were very firm and so were the pillows. I wish I would have brought my own bed pillow. The room was huge! We ate at the Chalet restaurant for breakfast one morning. It was really good. Then we had reservations for dinner on our anniversary. My filet was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms were excellent. My husband was disappointed in his prime rib because it was overcooked and dry. The service in the restaurant was kind of slow because they don't have enough help. It took three tries for them to get my husband's cocktail correct. Our server, Sheila, was very sweet and apologetic. The first afternoon we were there we went out to the terrace bar and they were closing early because of not enough help. There were very many disappointed people. Our room was on the second floor. I wish we would have known beforehand so that we could have made sure our room was on the first floor because we both have breathing issues. The 23 steps up to the second floor was very difficult for our breathing. The staff was accommodating and carried up our heavy suitcase. One of the best things about this place was the absolute beautiful view of the mountains."
Hampton Inn Marion
10/10 Excellent
"Room was clean. We had to ask for bedding for the pull out bed - I expected it to be in the closet. Kids swam in the pool. The pool room was super hot! Looks like there was duct work in the ceiling but removed. Unsure if they are working on it or not. Breakfast was great!"
Springmaid Mountain

"Everything was clean and ready for us. Was a cold week but still nice and warm with the gas logs. Kitchen was supplied with utensils and cooking equipment. Enjoyed our stay. We will be back. "
