Everything was perfect! We have never stayed in a more charming place. It was beautiful, staff was very helpful. I can’t say enough. It was absolutely perfect!
Everything was perfect. Front desk staff was friendly and helped carry my senior friends bags up to the 3rd floor. Property is beautifully restored. The setting is beautiful. I hope to come back when the weather is warmer
Staff was excellent and the hotel was wonderful. We enjoyed the history retained in the hotel. The hotel is beautiful bringing the warmth of the early days.
The room was very clean, the amenities were great, they have a coffee, tea, water, ice station with real glass at each floor. The hotel is really beautiful with a large fireplace next to the bar where people can hang out. They also have a second lounge with board games, chess and cards. What really stood out was Candler who went above and beyond to provide me with really important information about my planned activities such as my hike at Mt Mitchell and stargazing at the bare dark sky observatory.
Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Historic inn was very interesting and in great shape following extensive restoration. Wooden floors and halls are antique and squeaky so noise can be a bit of a challenge. Restaurant was convenient, well appointed, and served excellent food.

Old historic hotel, great staff and an overall a great time. Resteraunt food was great
This historic hotel is so stinking cute! The bathrooms are updated and the bed is comfortable and soft. There is a mini fridge, smart tv, and sound machine in the room as well as a fan and a portable heater (though there is central heating and air). Parking was right out front; and they have ice, water, tea, and coffee in the common area on each floor. A cute sitting area and balcony are a nice touch. The restaurant is on the first floor, and breakfast is included! Town center is right outside with shopping and dining available. Burnsville is adorable; and this was a great, safe, and clean place to stay!
Wonderful hotel on the square. The owner was super nice, the guy at the front desk waited on my due to traffic in the mountains to check me in. He was super nice. There’s history, cool decorations, modern class met old school charm. They did a wonderful job with the remodeling keeping the old feel and refurbishing it while ushering in modern amenities. You feel like you should be paying $500 a night, which in other areas it would cost that but Burnsville is a little nothing town and this place anchors it. Seriously, this has to be the coolest place in the whole town. 5 stars if you don’t stay here while passing through you missed out!
My first rime to Burnsville to visit the Planetarium. Stayed at NuWray. Totally relaxed experience. The staff was great and offered to carry my luggage. How sweet, but I opted to hold my little backpack. The building had great old energy. Inviting. The fireplace in the great room was such a warming touch to a cool misty Burnsville night. PS the front desk lady shared a very “special” story about my room.
Our stay here was AWESOME!!! The staff was very friendly and check in/out were very easy. My wife and I stayed in the Carriage House which actually sits behind the main hotel which was a bit confusing initially. Our room was very spacious and sits above the Carriage House Sundries restaurant which has incredible breakfast! We bought a bottle of wine to take to our room the night before and the manager gave us 2 wine glasses to use in our room! Between the main hotel and the Carriage house is a courtyard with a bar and patio area where you can enjoy BBQ from the food truck. We will definitely be back!
Cute, renovated hotel in the heart of downtown. Fireplace in lobby was great on a cold night. Staff was friendly and room was comfortable. Bathroom was updated but it took a long time to get less than hot water in the shower. Biggest issue was lack of sound proofing. The room doors open right into the hall (no hall/bathroom buffer like newer hotels) and you can hear every conversation outside your room. We could also hear the alarm of the person across the hall going off for over an hour. Would definitely bring earplugs if we stayed here again. The restaurant in the back was great and they are building a speakeasy in the basement.
