"First of all I want to start with the positives because there were some. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were well equipped, spacious and clean. Unfortunately that is all the positives. First issue was the staff there were very unhelpful and did not abide by their own rules. The first thing you see, and plastered all over the hotel, are signs stating this is a smoke free hotel. "The room had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, which was unexpected since the hotel is advertised as smoke-free. Additionally, both the bathtub and the sink were clogged, making the stay less comfortable than expected."

"One of the reasons that I stay at Hampton Inn is because the beds are so incredibly comfortable, and this visit didn't disappoint. But, what stood out about this Hampton Inn was the breakfast. It was amazing! It was seasoned, there was a variety of food, each day, and it was perfectly prepared and executed. The staff was helpful and even brought out almond milk for my daughter. Another big plus was that the staff were all very friendly and helpful."

"Our room was clean but very congested. Very small mini fridge and no microwave. No closet just a small bar to hang clothes on. Tub was extremely slippery. Beds were very comfortable. Typical breakfast fare nothing very appealing. Went somewhere else for breakfast. Charged us upfront for incidentals of 75.00 which I did not like at all. We won't stay at this property again."

"We really enjoyed our stay here! The room was very comfortable and clean with ample outlets and ports for device charging. Elevators make the multiple levels of the building easily accessed. Especially fabulous features are the inn's restaurant (featuring delicious and beautifully presented food that we sampled for dinner and breakfast) along with their full bar and excellent wine offerings."

"The host was on site when we arrived and greeted us graciously and efficiently. The room was clean and spacious, with a beautifully renovated bathroom (Room 5). The bed was a bit soft for our taste, but comfortable. There was no place to hang clothes, but there was plenty of drawer space in the bureau and bed stands. The reservation portal indicates the room has a hair dryer and a microwave oven, but it does not. They are still in renovation mode, so the outer appearance of the property still...

"The historic Inn is beautifully maintained and updated and provides a unique experience of staying in a home dating back to the 1600's. Breakfast was delicious and Megan the cook was welcoming and helpful. We always stay at the Black Walnut Inn when in Amherst!"

"It was a clean room and had all the amenities, I also liked that they provided some snacks as I came in late night. The only issue I had was when other people closed their doors it sounded like someone was hitting my door."
