I enjoyed my stay at Seaview Luxury Retreat, but the Expedia listing is seriously misleading and may breach consumer protection laws. There’s no front desk or concierge, no staff on site at all. The “24-hour airport shuttle” is just a €50 taxi they book, while Uber costs under €35. The listing claims “10 steps to the property,” but that’s just to the building entrance; the actual climb is 92 steps to the 4th floor, with no lift. It’s only suitable for fit, mobile guests.
The building is poorly maintained: broken glass at the entrance, no security, and the hallway doubles as a bin store. Lighting is motion-sensor but unreliable, often leaving you in the dark. The retreat’s main door doesn’t close properly, and our room’s door snagged against the floor. Inside, the room is well-decorated and the views are stunning—those claims are accurate. But there’s no housekeeping, so we had to wash cups in the bathroom sink. For longer stays, the minimalist setup lacks practicality, we lived out of our suitcases.
The location is central, and our stay was enjoyable, but this is not a luxury retreat. I wouldn’t recommend it for solo female travellers due to security concerns, and it’s absolutely unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. Expedia must urgently revise the listing to reflect reality.
