"The chair and house staff were very nice. Front desk could have been more helpful. We had to go to the Chamber of Commerce for a map. We did not think the restaurant food was up to par. We thought this would have been more of a resort but it just seemed like a motel. Not really worth $400 plus a night. "

"We decided to stay at the Golden Host Resort based on the many, many 5 star reviews and were a bit disappointed. Our room was very clean and the bed was Super Comfortable. We asked for an extra blanket and pillow and this was provided instantly. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked refreshing with a nice grassy area surrounding it and plenty of chaise lounges to relax. With that said, reviews talked about this hotel’s retro vibe. Other than the blue retro mini fridge and microwave, the room and setting were average, ordinary, but sufficient. If you’re looking for a clean simple place to stay, the Golden Host hotel is great. If you’re seeking a unique, unusual, retro vibe, you might be disappointed. "

"I was impressed with the staff and how they were always busy cleaning and they took pride in the property as well as the wildlife. The beach was perfect and easily accessed from the hotel. Lots of options for food and frink right on the property. Shopping and other restaurants were within walking distance. "

"Beach commute is excellent. We didn’t use shuttle services. finding parking was not difficult and it was easy short walk to the beach. Rooms are cream and comfortable, we would stay again for sure. "

"Beginning the day before we arrived, the staff was so attentive. They accommodated my last minute request for a dinner reservation, and the location for our room. We stayed on the upper level of the Tiki Tower. Room was spacious. Housekeeping great. We would have loved a balcony, but we booked late and only Tiki Tower rooms were available. The motel style entrance was different from what we’re used to, but it worked out fine. Easy access to pool, lobby, Tiki Bar, and beach. Pool area had plenty of chairs, and excellent food/beverage service. Lots of umbrellas for shade too. Music was even great! Beach was lovely, but there was a large pipe running the length of the beach. So you can’t see the water from the beach chairs. You can still walk over the pipe to the shoreline. Beautiful sunset views and dolphins too. We ate at Tiki Bar and Drift - both excellent. The live music at the beach near Tiki Bar was fun too. The shuttle to and from St Armand’s was also super convenient. "
