"Atmospheric rooms and bar. Clean rooms and comfortable bed. Bathroom was unheated and cold. But if this was resolved I can recommend this hotel as a great base to explore Nottingham."

"What a joke! The hotel cancelled on me right before we were due to stay because of an apparent leak. I think managed to book a different hotel at twice the price as it was so last minute. Hucknall house has now blocked my phone number and I still am waiting for a refund. "

"Room (single room) was being aired despite arriving late. Very poor condition room. Dated with dirty carpets and damaged furniture. Stale smell and uncomfortable night’s stay. The first hotel I’ve found in the area that has been of this poor quality. Disappointed as falsely being advertised as 4* on Expedia. "

"Room bathroom handle broken + 2 light fittings not working. Toilets in bar all cubicles out of order. Swimming pool was nice but handrail was loose/detached at bottom of stairs. Tried to order food on Saturday night but initially told kitchen closed until 20:30 then staff told to push back to 21:00, we gave up walked to Lidl and bought sandwiches. Such a disappointment, thank goodness for the brilliant bar tender Jake on the bar - he was very polite, attentive and apologetic."

"Check-in - painfully Slow... Insisted on charging a £50 "deposit" at check-in that wasn't mentioned at the time of booking, then after reluctantly paying by card and SEEING THE GREEN TICK AND APPROVAL CONFIRMATION on the terminal screen, the receptionist claimed it hadn't been successful, and I'd need to pay it again (which I refused to do). In the one small lift, the button for the Ground Floor was taped over with the message "Not Workig" (sic) meaning the only way to get back to the ground...

"Breakfast was ok but poor quality ingredients. We had a terrible dining experience. Starter ok - We waited one hour for our mains. My salmon served on a bed of rice was so dried out it was inedible. Looked like it had been left under the heat lamp for ages. Crispy and very dry. You could lift the whole dish up in one go - horrible. My partners cod loin wasnt any better and his veg was actually black and burnt. Amazed they actually served it to us. Four of the desert items were off the menu and...
