Holiday Inn Express & Suites Louisville N - Jeffersonville by IHG
8/10 Good
"Pros: Polite, cordial staff. The standard Holiday Inn Express breakfast is always a winner. Good bed & pillows. Spacious room. Decent shower. A/c worked great. Cleanliness is good overall.
No thanks: strangely, coffee makers are no longer standard in rooms. Also, bring your own mugs/drinking glasses: these are curiously no longer standard in rooms.
Maybe letting guests know at check-in would be a good idea? Anyhow, remember to ask for a coffee maker at the desk, and pick up disposable cups. (Or, be like your dog and happily lap water from the faucet.) In a country that runs on caffeine, this change has a hilariously Motel 6 vibe: somebody at HQ realized they could save a buck per day with this policy. You know, they could REALLY save by eliminating soap, bedding, TV, & mirror. I gotta say though that the lack of a coffee maker got me out of the room earlier. Convenient for the housekeeping staff!
An opinion about the 2 coffee machines at the common area: they make better than average hotel coffee but during a busy breakfast rush they present a bottleneck. Carafes would be a good idea."
"I stayed here on a Monday evening and it was somewhat a late booking as I decided I would need to sleep for a few hours.
Check in was easy, even though it was very late. The room was very clean, laminate flooring. Mattress was very comfortable. Bathroom clean with decent towels. Conditioner was even included with the toiletries.
Only draw back was door seemed kinda--flimsy. You could see light coming in around the bottom and the bottom side of the door--a good half inch. This place is right next to the freeway and even with the space in the doorway, I didn't notice the traffic while I was sleeping.
The staff was very friendly. If you have a dog, it is $40 extra per night and a $150 deposit, which was deposited back into my account 2 days later.
Would stay there again."
"Just wished they offered breakfast and running out of tissue was a thing it started with half roll just one it was one in there n when we needed it the most it wasn’t one lol but other than that it was a nice stay"
"It wad ok. Whoever was in the room across from me was in & out of the room all night. All I heard was the door slam so very rude when people are trying to sleep. The room was clean & the bed was soft. I didn’t care for the light in the bathroom. It kept turning off while I was in the shower because it’s on a motion. Should have a way to turn it on until it’s turned off. Also there are signs that say no smoking by the building but while I was bringing my stuff upstairs there was a lady sitting right by the door smoking."
"This hotel is in a walkable area of New Albany. It is a quick drive to anything in downtown Louisville. Great location. The building is aging, but it is well kept up. The room was newly renovated. We were comfortable for our one night stay."
