The host was very helpful when I arrived at 1pm following my flight from Seattle and train ride to Southampton. He made my room available upon arrival. The bed was very comfortable, and the room clean and functional. The inn was very quiet during my stay, which helped me move through my jet lag.

Cosy and clean, excellent accommodation
Received a warm welcome upon arrival from the lodge's very helpful host. I needed a taxi for the morning and he recommended a cab company that turned out to be excellent. My room and its en-suite bathroom were remarkably clean. The only thing that wasn't pristine was the kettle, but I happily used it. Comfy bed that felt fresh. Firm mattress, I usually prefer soft but I liked it. The whole place had a very home-like atmosphere. The room felt cosy and was genuinely nice to be in, particularly in the evening and at night. I appreciated the decent WiFi, along with the vast number of power sockets available to use in the room, and also that all appliances had been recently PAT tested. Walls were a little thin, heard conversations happening downstairs but couldn't exactly hear what was being said, and this wasn't particularly disturbing - just felt like being in a house. The location was great for Southampton Central train station, and the street was quiet on a Saturday night. Very good value for money, particularly for a weekend in Southampton. Overall, comfy and clean accommodation at a very reasonable price. Landguard Lodge clearly has a caring and careful owner.

Great stay for 1 night
I booked for one night in a single room, it was locsted in the middle of property. The bed a very comfortable and the en-suite was spacious. The property is locsted a 15 min walk into the centre. It is also quiet which is nice for a city location. My only grip is the outdated curtains and bed sheet but other than that i would definitely stay again.

B&B, 10 minutes walk from the station
Nice clean B&B, friendly service, good breakfast(optional - paid for separately). Stayed for the football (women's Euros), this is 10 minutes walk north of Southampton Central station and 20 to 25 minutes walk from the football ground

We had prepaid so check-in was 1 min. We were helped with our luggage to first floor room, good size with a double and a single bed clean, tidy, standard English B&B. Quiet street, seemed reasonable value for money. Walking distance to some takeaway and 2 pubs. 8-10£ taxi to cruise terminal or station.

I didn't check the check-in times on the app, which was latest 8pm. I arrived at 1AM to find the whole place closed up. I knew it was my error, but I tried calling them and ringing the door as I didn't have anywhere else to go, I was stranded. Within minutes the owner called me back. I apologised profusely and asked if it was possible to be let in. He graciously still let me check in which saved me. Thankyou! Other places might have turned me away. The owner was polite and kind through-out my stay. The stay was great too. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. I was even able to get a brilliant breakfast relatively cheaply. Would recommend you stay!

We stayed for 3 nights, last weekend. The lodge is super clean, everything is sparkling. Rooms very welcoming with all you need for a excellent stay. Parking available if needed. Booking was easy and John made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was offered and was first class, freshly cooked to order. If you want to stay in Southampton, just a short walk from the train station. Would highly recommend for a quality stay. Already booked for later this year.

Very highly recommended.
Really good choice. Ten minute walk from station; beautiful room, en suite and very comfortable bed. Lovely full english breakfast and other choices. Perfect host, very pleasant, helpful guy - couldn't want for more. Would highly recommend.
