"No hot water when showering"

"This property is poorly maintained, lots of patch work, filthy floors and carpet, seems like house keeping doesn’t do a good job either. Room felt 1/2 clean, lots of rust, old furniture, you can tell it hasn’t been updated in 10-15 years. Balcony was covered in mildew, outside furniture not clean. They do the bare minimum at this place. Good luck fighting for a spot on the beach in front of the hotel. However, bedding was clean, tub was spotless, right on the beach so you can’t beat that! View from the room was beautiful. Restaurant food was delicious, drinks from the bar were decently priced. Pool was clean. It’s definitely a 1 star hotel when it comes to the maintenance and upkeeping. Amenities 2.5 and that’s pushing it. 5 stars for beach access."

"The Contessa is the value of a Holiday Inn with the cost of an Intercontinental property. This is an old hotel with a small pool crammed onto the rooftop. You don't get a walk in shower like the photos show here on Orbitz and my wife didn't have hot water for her shower this morning, either. If you are a basketball hooligan that wants to get drunk and make a lot of noise, this is your place! But if you're a normal human looking to enjoy the Riverwalk, go over to the Hilton instead. The Ambler restaurant, however, had excellent food and exellent servers - they should move to a good hotel."

"When we arrived the staff was really rude at the front desk. Then my key card stopped working and although it’s something that can be fixed. After, a long day at the beach all you want to do is go to your room. It happened multiple times a day and after going to your room you had to walk back to the lobby to fix the issue. Still they refused to give me a new one. Internet sucks. Then our air conditioning stopped working at 4 am and they told us someone would come fix it at 7 am. Someone did come to fix it around 10 am. Room was only cleaned once during our stay. Property is nice and I would definitely stay in that area again but not in this hotel."
