"The Gables is a magnificent 19th century building. The owners have done a great job of decorating and restoring to reflect the period of the home. My wife has dietary restrictions, and the staff fully accommodated her. Breakfast is served at eight, but Cesar gladly fed us at 6:30 so we could catch a flight. The grounds are beautiful, with a wraparound porch. Off street parking is available. Location is excellent, with a trolley stop right in front of the house. Good restaurant selection within...

"Very clean and nice bar staff. The spicy chicken wings there were amazing. Negative’s are expensive valet. Area where the hotel is the ghetto part of downtown. But walkable distance to Starbucks and shopping. And didn’t realize this when I booked. But no pools in this hot heat"

"Loved this hotel! Great food, nice staff, lots of character in the building itself! The only thing I missed was having a coffee pot in the room. I’m an early riser, and like to get up and have a cup of coffee as soon as my feet hit the floor. We did have the muffins and coffee in the lobby, and the muffins were delicious."

"While the hotel itself was visually appealing and clean. The front desk seemed nice enough. I had no issues with valet. However, room was smaller than expected. But to be fair, they list the square footage. The room door didnt shut all of the way unless you pulled it. The bathroom door doesn't lock and has a small gap. The big one is no microwave in the room. The in-drawer cooler didnt work and ai couldn't get the safe to work. The most comfortable firmness level of a bed is subject but it was...

"Beautiful, large room wtih tasteful, thoughtfully-selected furniture and amenities. Location was excellent for visiting the historic landmarks. Media system in room was problematic and did not work over the 5-night visit. Efforts to fix it were unsuccessful."
