"The Kontiki is a beautiful hotel with the friendliest staff. The property is well-maintained with great on-site parking. The beach view is amazing being that you are right on Mambo beach with dozens of shops, restaurants, and activities to participate in. I stayed in the Tropical Superior room with my boyfriend and can say the room was great, but needs a little renovation. My only issue is housekeeping, we had to constantly worry about whether or not they would show up due to the lack of service on our first day. Keep in mind room service leaves at 4:30PM and once they do there is no clean up and youāll have to wait till the next day. I would tell the front desk to inform the housekeepers and somehow the message wouldnāt be delivered unless I spoke to a housekeeper myself; that was the annoying part. Another issue we faced is the smell of the sewer system coming out of the drain/toilet. They āfixedā it, but it looks like they just cleaned the toilet and put some cleaner in ā an otherwise temporary fix. Regardless, our trip was still amazing experience, phenomenal location, and friendly staff. I would come back in a couple of years to revisit again."
