"2 families stayed whilst visiting Alton Towers. We couldn’t have stayed any closer, The Old Barn literally on the doorstep. The property have a very homely feel which made relaxing easy. There was plenty of room for the 12 of us. We could even all sit together around the large table in the kitchen to eat together. Beds were very comfortable and the location was quiet. "Great low price. The rooms are dated and in need of renovation, but they are clean"

"Hotel has recently reopened so there’s bound to be some snagging. No bin in room or bathroom, no towel rail, part of door jarm not painted. No staff to be seen at breakfast and went to reception to ask for eggs as none left. Staff on reception were helpful and apologised. The bedding and bathroom was clean and staff told me that the hotel has been fully refurbished. The dining room and hotel has an elegant but cosy feel."

"The staff and the breakfast were amazing however the rooms have no shampoo (body wash is not going to do it for me), no lotion, no tissues and no phone. No phone makes it extremely difficult for overseas visitors to contact reception. Even the charming lady on reception who confirmed that these amenities were not offered in the hotel states that they were a budget hotel ‘but maybe not - we are quite expensive’. "

"Excellent communication from host & easy check in with key lock. Room was spacious & comfortable for our family of 4. The only negative was that we hadn’t realised that bathroom would be downstairs, which resulted in the kids being a bit anxious about going on their own, as it’s a shared house and they weren’t comfortable wandering around the house on their own with strangers. Not a problem for the adults, but the kids weren’t comfortable. "
