Very accessible to MRT but still I won't stay at this hotel . Carpet on the hallways so filthy . It smells and has stains . Food for breakfast is terrible . For our 5 Nights of stay, food is bland and the menu is the same . Had breakfast at 8:30 and by that time food is gone. They don't replenish the trays. Room gets warm in the early morning.

The best I can give is good at best.
The room in the picture isn't the room we stayed in, we had a King Size Bed. For two nights it's smelled as someone was smoking near us, no smoke detectors installed, only fire protection. Room was in need of repair, see attached photo. Airport Shuttle service is having the Hotel call for Taxi service, misleading information. Breakfast, better off not taking advantage of the Hotel offer.

Great hotel for more than 2 people and excellent location. My sister and her 3 children (ages 17, 14, 11), 4 of them were able to fit ok in the triple room. The bedding was good for this purpose. The hotel's amenities is not top notch, bathroom vent is quite loud and the blinds played up a bit. But we weren't in the room much of the day so it served its purpose for sleeping only. At night it can be a bit noisy as there's a bar/club somewhere near the building. However, I didn't mind it because there's 3 different MRT around that makes it very easy to travel around Singapore. Also, please be aware they do not have laundry facilities only laundry service. If you want to wash your own clothes I would recommend walking to Victoria Hotel, less than 10mins walk. They have a coin operating washing machine and dryer there that's open to the public.

Initially we were given room 711. Felt body itchy all over and realised there are bed bugs. Requested change of room and thankfully there was but twin sharing. Don't really care much so long I don't get bitten again. Room 302 was much bigger than the previous room but the mattress wasn't spine support friendly. Didn't sleep well during my two nights there. Room was really small. Wall half painted and interior wasn't that inviting unlike what was shown as advertised. No box of tissue provided. Basic toiletries but no holder for the mini soap bar at the basin. Room has a damp smell. Now coming to the breakfast part, nevermind the fact we use disposables but breakfast was so so. The fried kway teow and fried rice ok. But not for the noodle that goes with the spaghetti sauce. Has a rubbery feel. It's not really pasta noodle. saw a lot of plates with the noodles leftover. Please serve bread in future. With eggs, butter, jam to go along with. You can't go wrong with that. At least any leftover bread, you can still keep for the next day or make into french toast. In this way, wastage can be significantly reduced. Also beverages provided is only confined to 3in 1 coffee or tea. Surely no harm in providing more variety like plain coffee or tea right? Will not stay in this hotel. Believe there are better ones in the vicinity like Hotel Mi, Bencoolen 30, Strand, etc.

Satisfied with mini staycation
The kettle in our room was rusty, and the staff changed it immediately. Fast response! The staff also arrange for the maintenance department to adjust the air-conditioning in our room. Furnishings were a bit old but clean, no bugs no insects nothing. Buffet breakfast wasn't a lot of choice, but still not too bad. Location is good and convenient. Overall I am satisfied with my mini staycation and will not hesitate to choose this hotel again.

The staff are fantastic - friendly, helpful and cheerful. It is clean and has everything one needs. The location is excellent, walkable to a lot of popular areas and stations near. Plenty of buses along the street too. Lots of campuses around so lots of cheap eating spots but plenty of upper market restaurants too with a variety of cuisines to choose from. In short, would thoroughly recommend Hotel Bencoolen.

I’m so disappointed in the lack of cleanliness at this hotel. My daughter found an old tube of medicine, someone else’s slipper, and a SIM card… along with TONS of dust under the best. Carpets stains in the hallway. Bathroom is dingy. Bedding stained and tattered. Windows hadn’t been cleaned in months maybe? Algae all over the windows and paint peeling in multiple areas. The staff were very kind and hospitable but the condition of the hotel was very low quality and unclean.

Disappointing for Singapore
The hotel reception staff were lovely but the room was damp mould on ceilings and bathroom needed a good clean as did the pool area green mould. It looked like it hasnt been cared for at all very rundown. Area is fine across the road from MRT close to Chinatown Little India etc. We have stayed in Singapore a no.of times before and had always been pleased with the high standards of hotels before.

Bad sleep due to noise from below
Generally room itself was all ok, the downside is that the noise from below is still very much heard from level 6 where we stayed. As it was a saturday night, there's a crowd at the street level dining, drinking and chatting. And their chatting and laughter up till 3plus am kept the family unrested. Kids and the adults were dead tired the following day.

This hotel deserves an extra 1/2 star above its 3 star rating. The room I had was spacious and well maintained. The locked door connecting the opposing room was not thick or soundproofed enough as I can hear the other family enjoying their staycation over the extra long weekend holiday. Not a major issue to me though but the lukewarm hotwater was (seems to be a recurring issue in other star hotels I've stayed around here recently) Staff was attentive although a bit stretched as they appeared slightly understaffed. Did not have the chance to check out the pool but will consider coming back to this hotel again.

We had to change room once as the bedsheet in our initial room was dirty. The 2nd room had a very bad TV service. The television signal was very bad. Our phone didn't work when we changed to the 2nd room as well. So we had to go all the way down to the lobby to request stuff. Kinda disappointed with the service management.

good receptionist but horrible stay
air con at lobby not working. the lift is very rundown. when i reached my level, the mouldy carpet smelly is strong. the moment i opened the room door, i see a very old and rundown toilet, small wall tiles, grouting are badly done. although the toilet is clean, but the old and rundown feel makes it very uncomfortable. bed was horrible. its spring bed. so its not firm and the pillows were all very soft. the bed cover is not white, but light greyish in comparison with the bed cover. window is facing the other building wall. i checked out after 10hours. my back ache from the bed. the only good about this place, the receptionist is very well manner and responsive. other than this, its time to upgrade the hotel please.

Indicated 'do not disturb' and 'no houskeeping' but hotel staff still entered for housekeeping. Condition of room was bad as well - there were ants around even on the bed!

I know these are COVID-19 times, but I would like to be informed before I check in to a hotel if it is used for healthcare workers dealing with COVID-19. Secondly, the cleaning service is very bad. Only every second or third day. Lastly, I had very noisy neighbours (which of cause is not the fault of the hotel), but overall not a good experience. Location of hotel is good though.

Room was horrible. We have to change room at late night as found the bed with ditrty marks. The 2nd room even worse as there were lots of bugs crossing on the bed. Sat on the side of the room waited till morning to check out. Hope to get the remaining nights to be refunded

Very good location of the hotel, good reception customer service, unfortunately the low price matches the conditions - there was mold in the bathroom, very very noisy as the cleaning ladies were yelling and laughing out loud every morning, despite our complaints. Very small pool, no view from the 3rd floor, lots of drain flies on the walls...unfortunately would not recommend and would never stay there again!
