"Perpetually understaffed. Seems to be an ongoing issue based on other reviews. One staff member running the restaurant and reception so you have to hunt them down to check in and then hope you can get a table. And then it's an extremely long wait to get any service. During my stay I witnessed other customers clearing tables to help the rushed and visibly stressed member of staff"

"We had a lovely stay at this hotel - the staff were all incredibly friendly and very welcoming to us and our dog. We ate once in the hotel for dinner and the curry was delicious, we also ate from the food van outside on our arrival day and the burgers hit the spot. We had an absolutely spectacular view from our room of the loch and surrounding mountains, the seating area in front of the windows was a nice touch as we enjoyed having our coffee here each morning. The hotel is a great base for exploring the surrounding areas of Glencoe and Fort William, however I would only recommend if you have a car (free parking is also a nice touch). I will say the only downside was while the rooms appeared clean, we found rubbish in the drawers and previous guests dirty socks.. this being said, I can appreciate this was a minor oversight, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. "

"We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant attached. Dinner was delicious and catered well to our vegetarian diet. Breakfast was adequate too. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Parking was convenient. Stayed with my husband and 2 kids, would stay again!"

"Overall, we had a good stay at The Garrison and most aspects of the hotel were positive. The location is excellent for exploring Fort William, and the main facilities were clean and well presented. Apart from parking, everything else met expectations and the staff were generally helpful. However, there were a few downsides. The single sofa bed was very uncomfortable and not suitable for a good night’s sleep. Also, there was ongoing construction work which started quite early around 8am — this was a bit disruptive, especially if you had the window open as some dust could come into the room. Another small inconvenience was the access to reception. Having to go through multiple doors made it feel less straightforward than it should be, especially when arriving with luggage. Overall, a decent stay with a few areas that could be improved to make the experience much better."

"Breakfast was good. The room was small. We rented the tiny room. TV remote did not work. TV was very small."

"A brief but very pleasant stay with our family at the Onich. We stayed in a little standalone corrage next to the hotel and it was very comfortable. The only downside was that the only bathroom was upstairs via the bedroom and the property was facing a main road so we had to be very cautious leaving it with our children. The staff were wonderful; very warm and friendly and the food was excellent. "

"Parking was easy. Room was filthy (toenails on floor and hair in shower). Room was not as pictured. We were given a new room as ours was dirty and we were given some compensation. However, the second room was still not completely clean (stains on bedsheets) and the owner did not seem concerned by these issues."
