I have stayed here annually for a number of year due to its location and the convenience of knowing where everything is. But the condition continues to deteriorate. The furniture in the room is showing its age. I couldnt get the room temperature right despite having a hotel staff member stop. I frooze all night. Next year when I come back to Shanghai, we are going to explore other options.

Well located, at metro stop 25 minutes from Honqqiao 29-30 minutes from downtown Attached to a shopping center with a large choice of restaurants Very close to Zhongshan park which is anice are where to walk and relax

There is a supermarket in the same building and the subway station is close and very convenient. Breakfast start at 6:00 is a rare and very welcoming service, but all meals are served only around 6:20.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Renaissance Hotel during my recent vacation. It is a nice hotel with good facilities and cleanliness. The staff are friendly and polite, especially the reception and luggage storage department on the ground floor. We received a lot of help. However, there are some areas that need improvement. The elevator usage rate of the hotel is very high, the indicator light is not obvious enough, and the door opening time is too short, which has caused door pinching several times. In addition, towels produced in 2022 are still in use. These are some minor issues. Overall, it feels good, especially the hotel is very convenient to public transportation. I would choose this hotel again if I have the opportunity.

The location is great and easy to commute by public transportation. Lots of dining options. The hotel is a bit dated, and the chair in my room is clearly worn off on the edge of the seat. The design of the shower floor keeps the shower water on the floor and always leaves a pond there. Hotel staff and service are nice.

Very nice central location. In a high-rise sharing a mall with many restaurants and shops (was very handy when we were stuck indoor for half a day due to a typhoon). Very close to all transportation. You can also walk to nearby very active neighborhood. Room a little small but ok. Odd that bathroom and bedroom are separated by a glass window with only a Venetian blind for privacy.

If you like cooler rooms ask for windows that open

Great service also friendly staff very quick to respond - lovely breakfast catering for Asian and western pallets - only constructive critique is that in winter December cooler months the heating is high in the rooms and we needed to move rooms to get a room that windows could open as I like to sleep in a cooler environment of around 18-21 Celsius and I find 25-30 Celsius too hot to sleep in - luckily the hotel was able to move me to a room with windows that can open - Hotel is right by the metro so it was super easy to get to the airport and also a wonderful shopping centre below it - over all great hotel

The place is very conveniently located . With out exiting the building complex you can easily get to subway and the mall. The hidden hotel service charges upon arrival was a shock. It was not mentioned at the reservation. Thumbs down.

Overall, the hotel felt old, but the room was clean and well-maintained. You could hear voices from the neighboring room if you were sitting by the window. The TV only broadcast Chinese. It's quite unusual for a hotel of this calibre to only broadcast Chinese. The hotel staff were polite and nice. The breakfast selection was limited, but the fresh salad was nice. I wish they'd put more effort into the Western-style bread. The gym was disappointing. No matter how many times I tried to open my locker with the electronic key, it just wouldn't open. Then, halfway through, a group of children, around first or second grade, came in with their mother. The mother was by the pool, letting the children swim alone. The children were so small that their faces would be hidden by their feet when they touched the bottom, but the mother didn't get in with them and instead sat in a chair by the pool. I think most gyms don't allow young children to swim alone in their pools because it's considered dangerous. What surprised me was that one of them jumped into the pool from the poolside. Despite this extremely dangerous behavior, the pool lifeguard didn't warn them. He started swimming in the lane I was using, so I had no choice but to go home because it was dangerous. I think that when small children go into the pool, parents should be required to go in with them in swimsuits.

The worst experiences I had so far. Took for more than 1 hour to check in since only 1 counter is opened . All my colleagues has experiences the same thing for those who arrived earlier or later than I am which means this is the normal practice for this hotel . A lot of the room is smelly , air con not working , and the worst of all no fridge in the room but did not even mention it when we check in !!! Everything just bad !!

Run down but OK

The rooms in general are a bit run down. The first room I received had so many moths that I asked to get another room (after having killed at least 10). This was arranged quickly, but not a word of apology. The second room was so hot. I thought at first it might be because it had not been used for a while. I asked in the reception and they sent up an engineer. His solution was to open the window :-) and he explained to me via a translation app that this time of year (March) they only have heating, not cooling. I found this explanation strange as the previous room was much cooler but I felt it was pointless to argue with the engineer. The open window made it OK. Apart from that the breakfast was great although very busy and the slow coffee machines are a bottle neck. The hotel is very conveniently located just next to a mall with a big underground food court. There is a nice pool in the hotel but as always in China it's strictly for swimming laps (not like you hang out with a beer).
