Wrong choice, complete disaster
This is a total disaster. No reception for check in. Hotels.com confirmed the booking but Eversunshine Residence wasn't aware of the booking at all. Obviously there was a huge communications gap. After hours waiting in late night, Eversunshine Residence confirmed no partnership/relation with Hotels.com and kicked me out at 10:30pm. All payment was made to Hotels.com ahead of time but till now no one reached back to me to handle this.

Great for family - not luxury but very functional
We booked a 3 bedroom suite for a big family. It’s a two story apartment style hotel. 3 bedrooms and a full bath are on the upper level while a small kitchen and living area along with a half bath (toilet only) are on the lower level. The windows need cleaning. Bathroom and bedding are clean. Mattress is extra firm and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. The complementary breakfast is great - way better than what we get in USA. It even has a balcony. In a nice area. We got a good price. Can’t believe the deal!

Great place to stay in Shanghai.
I was having trouble finding a decent place in Shanghai without spending a small fortune. Most places in Asia are 2 twin beds maybe 2 full beds. First of all we travel alot and we always bring our 3 kids. 6, 5, and a 2 year old. We brought the kids to Shanghai Disneyland and now wanted to explore the city for 4 days. Found this lil gem by accident. It's huge! The shower is updated and huge....could shower 3 kids no problem. Upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs you have a King size bed...downstairs has a pull out sofa bed. Comes with a refrigerater, microwave, coffee maker, stove(which we didn't use). The place is clean, the shower had plenty of hot water, and the 2 a/c units blew ice cold. Air conditioning worked so good we had to turn it down. There's a convenience store across the street and the metro is north about a 10 min walk on Pudong or you can take a taxi everywhere it's cheap. If you need a big place in Shanghai you found it. Staff is great, they speak English and will help you call a cab to the airport.

Just below my expectations
Though I asked for a non-smoking room, I could smell someone had smoked in that room before. There're cigarette burnt marks on the carpet. There're cigarette butts on the balcony floor. For the room service, the staffs were very helpful. They allowed us to get the room earlier. For fixing the appliances in the room, the staff turned out within minutes.

Lot of space. Free shuttle service to nearby metro station and places of interest.(once in the morning). Breakfast buffet had a lot of variety. However the room was a bit too cold and mattress on the bed was a little hard. The shower area smelled a bit weird. Staff weren't fluent in English but helpful otherwise. Overall it was a nice stay and I felt safe. This place is quite affordable and I'll recommend it to people.

A clean room with poor service
I booked this room for my wife and three children and made specific notes on booking that I would require enough beds. There was a double for my daughters to share and a sofa bed for my son. The hotel however refused to make up the sofa bed. Even after speaking with two managers over the phone the best they could so was to provide one flat sheet. We booked this room as it had a kitchenette but there was no cutlery or crockery. If you are the standard couple this place would be fine. The room was a two story apartment and not suitable if you want to get heavy bags upstairs to the bedroom or if you are frail. I am slowly learning that Chinese service is not the same as the service I have been used to elseware.

GREAT little hotel and great staff. Excellent breakfast. My only issue was the cleanliness of the carpet in the room...wore my flip flops the second my feet touch the floor. What a great neighborhood!!! 10 minutes walk to subway takes you EVERWHERE.

Shanghai Stay
The hotel is clean and nice. Stayed on the 19 floor which is the non smoking floor. The strange thing is that it comes with sort of a living room. To go to the bed room, you need to take a steep flight of stairs. Not nice for heavy luggage to be moved up. Other than this, all else is nice. A bit far away from Metro though.

Two breakfast coupons would've been nice
We were travelling with two young children, so the townhouse style of the rooms was good for us. We had a living area downstairs and a large bedroom upstairs. As other people have commented, it was a bit useless having a kitchen though (besides the extra sink), as there was absolutely no cutlery or cookware or crockery. We stayed in a Deluxe room because that was all the booking system would let us book with two children. However, I'm pretty sure with very young children like ours, it would've been ok to be in a regular room too. The hotel staff (including the cleaning ladies) were really nice. The location is covenient too, only about 5 minutes (by free shuttle bus) to the Jin Mao Tower area. For some reason there was only one free breakfast coupon per room per day, so if we wanted to eat together we had to pay for one person (and was not really very good value for money for what it was). The buffet was mostly Chinese-style food, although they did make a very good omlette.

Eversunshine Hotel Shanghai - comfortable stay
I recently stayed at the Eversunshine Hotel in Shanghai and enjoyed my stay there. The location is not "downtown" however we found the area quite nice and only about 10 minutes away from The Bund by taxi. The metro station is about 10-15 mins by walk (Line 9) and we found a few decents places to eat in that area. My only cons are: The beds were REALLY hard. Like plywood hard. Also, the customer service was a bit off depending on who was working and NO free internet. The pros are: quiet but central area, it was really nice to have the 2nd floor for sleeping only, spacious, good value for money, small kitchen in the room. Would stay there again if they had better beds!

Eversunshine Hotel - Shanghai
This hotel was very clean and the rooms were a lot larger than I expected. The beds were really hard, so I would suggest asking for more comforters to soften things up. The staff was very professional and tried to help as much as possible when their English was limited. Also They have a computer in the lobby that you can use for free if you need Internet access. The location was not bad if you have a lot of business or things to do in the Pudong side. I mainly stayed at this Hotel because of the World Expo. I personally think there are more fun things to do on the Puxi side (across the river). I liked how this hotel was quite tall with large red letter on the side of the building as you drive down Wei Fang Road. This hotel is also on the street corner so it was easy to tell the taxi driver where to do by tell them the cross streets. It is about a 3 min taxi ride from the Century Avenue Subway Station or a 20 min walk. The surrounding neighborhood was not bad, had a convenience store across the street, a few restaurants and pubs down on the street level of the hotel. I felt very safe walking around at night. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family, and definitely stay here again if I was in Shanghai

This hotel is very nice. I like how the bi-level room enables guests to visit you and yet not see your suitcases and stuff. The staff are just great. They really take care of you. People remembered me from a previous visit, and they were very happy to see me. I never forgot how a man would clean my room, and when he had the chance to pocket a bunch of coins, he organized and stacked them neatly on the table. This hotel will always be my choice as far as staying in Shanghai. Of course, it is a hotel near the main subway line and not far from places like Lujiazui. Well worth a stay.

Best I've Stayed At In Shanghai
I've stayed at this hotel several times now because: 1. It's very nice 2. Helpful staff 3. Great location in Pudong Financial District 4. They don't nickel & dime you 5. Best free breakfast I've ever had at any hotel. Period. The only thing I don't like about this hotel is the same thing that can be said for every hotel I've stayed at in China: hard beds. In the U.S. I'm used to soft beds that give when you lay on them. But in China, all the beds I've slept on were like sleeping on a slab of rock. Not really the hotels fault since all the beds seem to be like this in every hotel.

OK Hotel, a few areas of improvement would make it good
Upon checking in, I was given a room on the 11th floor, and arrived at the room to find a maid rapidly removing the ashtrays in the room. The room clearly was a smoking room when I had requested a non-smoking. This hotel has only 1 floor of non-smoking rooms on the 19th floor. I was moved to the 19th (I was told this was an 'upgrade' for some reason, even though this is what I had booked) and this room was much better, although the carpet was badly stained (It is a light color carpet). The rooms are split over two levels, with a living area and kitchen downstairs and bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The kitchen includes an oven, microwave, and fridge. Rooms facing away from the city are very quiet - rooms with a view have quite a lot of traffic noise from the street below. As for the bed, it was fairly comfortable and the linens were crisp and clean - I slept fairly well, and the room AC blows cold and is fairly quiet. Some improvements could be done to the shower, as it has a tendancy to run hot or cold in spurts, depending upon what other guests are doing which is interesting. There was a buffet breakfast included in my package but it wasn't very good. There are some hot items, but the hotel features mostly Chinese breakfast items and the hot Western food is pretty basic. They do make eggs fresh though so there's at least something to eat. Avoid the coffee. Staff in the hotel didn’t seem very customer orientated; I stayed in a couple of different hotels on my visit to China and this one had the lowest level of customer service. Staff never seemed very friendly, it was hard to get the bellman to come out and take my baggage out of the taxi when I arrived, and for the most part they had little interaction with the guests (not many friendly smiles of greetings being thrown around). Overall, the hotel was fairly good value, but there are a few things they could improve that would really make this a nice place to stay.

Impressed - got a whole suite w/upstairs
I stayed 6 nights at Eversunshine Hotel and was very impressed. The room was clean, elegant, and to my surprise had an upstairs. 2 TVs, nice area for my laptop to use the (free) internet I paid a little extra for, and a fairly complete kitchen area with stove, fridge, sink, microwave, etc. One of the other things that impressed me a lot was the morning breakfast. Wow! Here in the states I'm used to a coffee and a bagel but here I was treated to a fully catered HUGE meal every morning with high quality food (restaurant quality) that kept me full most of the day so I hardly had to eat anything else until evening. The location is excellent and the staff is very friendly. The only negative thing I can say about my experience is that the bed was pretty hard. Not soft at all. But I was so knocked out after each day of activity that by the time I hit the sheets at night, it didn't matter much.
