Mixed review. The food was lovely evening meal and breakfast. Ideally placed for Malham
Cove.
The time for breakfast was 8am-9am which is very early for a weekend especially a Sunday.
I dont think the room was worth £130. There was damp under the window and the window frame was a mess.
The bar music is audible from the rooms
We were exhausted from walking so slept through it. The staff were friendly but the state of the room would mean we wouldn’t stay again unfortunately.
This was my first stay here, it was absolutely a pleasure, attention to detail was first class, the staff were very attentive and friendly. Will definitely be returning and highly recommend.
A wonderful Charming Hotel. The staff were so friendly and the breakfast fantastic. The room was excellent .

The staff were really friendly and accommodating. A great base for walking nearby or trips to places like Skipton. We really enjoyed the food and selection of drinks.

The building is beautiful and very inviting, but our room was dated and very small. It was cold. The mattress was old and not very comfortable. In the morning the dining room was uncomfortably cold, the coffee had been sitting in the pot for too long and tasted burnt. I was given a teapot of hot water to add to a tea bag which is not how to make a pot of tea. It’s a great place to explore the area but needs a revamp.

Hello LyndaI'm sorry to read these comments, as they are very unlike our normal review comments. If I remember correctly the window in your room was open on your arrival, as it was quite a nice day. That room does have secondary glazing in, so that should have eliminated the cold, once closed. Nothing was mentioned during your stay, as I would have come and checked the radiator was working and shown you where we keep the additional heater, within your room. I could have also given you additional bedding.Regarding the coffee, we start percolating the coffee, just before we start serving breakfast at 8am, so not sure why it tasted 'burnt', as even if it was left for the full hour fo breakfast service, it shouldn't taste like that. With our flavoured/herbal tea's, we do offer a pot of hot water, as we've found not everyone likes us to make it in the pot as it goes too strong. We do serve English breakfast in a pot, as you would traditionally. With regards to the rooms needing a re-vamp. We have now been granted planning permission (a very long winded process with us being a listed building) and we are replacing windows and decorating the rooms to freshen them up, starting after the summer.I do hope you return in the future to see our lovely hotel in all it's glory.RegardsMichelle & Team

Lovely stay, room was clean and warm, bed was really comfy. We were doing the 3 peaks the and they happily made us a breakfast tray for the morning as we were up early to get going. Staff very friendly and breakfast the last day was delicious with lots of variety.
Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

Unfortunately the fire alarm battery decided to go faulty at 1:30am so I had to listen to non stop bleeping all night - not restful. I have asked for a partial refund but heard nothing since - the manager was a way when I checked out.

Hello AllieThank you for your review, you have correctly mentioned I was and have been away since you checked out. I do feel you have only mentioned the one negative, which we had no control over and would like the opportunity to address the balance with all the positives you received during your stay. You had booked a double room for single occupancy with ‘ONE well behaved dog’ for 2 nights. You have failed to mention that you brought TWO Labrador type dogs with you, you didn’t once bring them through the main entrance and used the out of hours access to come and go to your room. Please note you were not charged any extra for the dogs. As per our policy on Expedia (your booking agent), dogs are chargeable at 20 per night. You checked in just as our kitchen was closing, however I ensured you got the sandwich you requested…. (sandwiches aren’t on our evening menu, however you mentioned you’d had a five hour drive and wanted something quick). I personally delivered the sandwich to your room on your return from your dog walk. I showed you to your room and when mentioning the breakfast times, you advised you may need to leave before breakfast was served. I explained I could put a breakfast basket together for you, although it wouldn’t have pastries in it, as by this time the kitchen was closed and everything had been cleaned down. I organised this and personally delivered this to your room too. You returned to the bar area asking for an alternative breakfast cereal, which we didn’t have, so I offered you Granola, which you accepted. You are correct the alarm battery did unfortunately start beeping at some point during the early hours of the first night of your stay, which, as with any battery we can’t control, however I suspect your restless night was probably as a result of your two dogs being disturbed by the beeping, which in turn disturbed you. We were fully booked in our accommodation for both nights you were here and while all guests mentioned that they had heard the alarm, they all said that it hadn’t woken them and/or disturbed them.I was around when you came back for you key and there was no mention of a refund request. I also went out of my way to mention that we had had the alarm company out, who had replaced the batteries and how the average battery life is 5years and we were at 4.5 years.Unfortunately, I wasn’t around at check out, otherwiseI would’ve spoken to you directly about your request and explained our normal room rate is 155 per night plus the dog fee, so in essence you have already had quite a reduction on what you paid.Kind regardsMichelle
Traditional pub accommodation, manager and staff very pleasant and helpful. Had dinner (Sunday roast) which was excellent, and spent time out in the sunny beer garden.

We booked a room as a night away after a visit to Malham Cove. We were really appreciative of the fantastic staff that couldn’t be more helpful and attentive. The room itself was gorgeous, the bathroom was fine but lacked the finish of the room. Brilliant bed, super quiet and breakfast was stunning. Plus, Patch the dog was very friendly and kept us company while we had dinner. ☺️

I stayed at The Harts Head for two nights in February 2023 whilst on a walking trip in the area. First impressions as I approached the hotel was that it looked in keeping with the area, with the weathered stone walls giving an almost historic look. On entering the hotel I was met by the relief manager who was very welcoming and polite. He booked me in
