A welcoming, relaxing stay

Welcoming and comfortable stay. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Golden Lion. A very friendly and well run place. The staff worked hard to ensure we and our dog had a fantastic break. The food was excellent and the room had all we could want.

Fantastic place to stay in a really lovely town

Really clean and nice place to stay. Great food and a nice friendly atmosphere in the pub. My friend & I were doing the 3 peaks challenge the next morning and the hotel made arrangements for breakfast to be left out early for us so we could have something before we left.

Great stay to help with doing the Yorkshire 3 pks

Really comfortable stay and ideal location in Settle to have things to do but close to the Yorkshire 3 peaks start. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Short stay for a local wedding

The room was lovely, bathroom wasn’t as clean as it could’ve been and the hot water at the sink was dangerously hot. The shower was great though, really powerful. The bed was comfortable and we both slept really well. The breakfast was nice but small portions for the full English. I think the jars of jam etc are a bit of a waste, maybe some smaller tubs might be better. All the staff were amazing, friendly and good service.

Excellent food and drinks, very welcoming

Lovely hotel with great rooms, good selection of coffees teas and local fudge. Fresh milk provided to take to your room. Great range of beds, bowls and treats for dogs too. Meals were excellent and the staff, Sarah and Rob (and the others too) went above and beyond to make us all feel welcome and sort gluten free information for one of our party. Will definitely go back.

Log fire luxury for Settle to Carlisle.

This is an excellent and very accommodating, comfortable hotel that is perfectly placed for rail travellers on the world famous Settle to Carlisle Railway. Our room was comfortable, warm and the beds were better than home. Great breakfast, reasonably priced ale, log fires topped up! No complaints.

Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Food and drink were both great and reasonably priced for the quality. The room gorgeous but I do recommend a pair of ear buds/plugs as it is on the main street and rooms to the front do have traffic going by from early in the morning.

I booked into the Golden Lion to visit family in the local area. I spent a lot of my childhood in Settle and nearby Langcliffe. The staff were very friendly and the rooms clean and tidy. We had dinner in the restaurant with some family and it was very good. Breakfast we great and the staff attentive.

We stayed at the Golden Lion with friends as we were walking the 3 peaks on the Friday, we both stayed in a classic room, the rooms were lovely, comfy bed, hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner, tea and coffee and bottled water, don't forget to ask for milk before bed. We ate in the restaurant both nights, the food was lovely and we had great service. We had asked for breakfast the morning of our walk as we had to leave at half 6, unfortunately they forgot to leave out any bread or bowls for cereal, which was a bit disappointing. We had the full breakfast on the Saturday morning which was delicious and again the service was great. Would definitely recommend

Very clean. Room recently redecorated to a very high standard. Lovely welcome tray with good choice of tea and coffee and some local fudge. I was offered a flask with fresh milk for my room. Great attention to detail.

Staff were amazing - we arrived slightly later and they found us a table and served us a dinner in double quick time - the wine was excellent too. Room was as expected for a country inn in Settle. Breakfast was good too.
