Undoubtedly the best hotel in Merang! Highly recommended if catching an early boat from Merang to Redang. Few mins away from Merang Jetty.

We had a wonderful Time there, our Host were perfect and treated us like friends. The food is very good as well, morning pancakes are wonderful. Budi was of great help when we had to book for our day trip, you don't have to take care of anything. the place is cute and classy. We loved our stay there, we even extend of one night. Thanks for everything Budi and Toni!

The hotel is located right next to the beach and near the boats that take you to Redang and the other islands. We arrived late in the season so couldn't travel to the islands, but we were given great suggestions by Budi and Tony for alternative trips (recommend the elephant sactuary) , and they were excellent hosts. I recommend their food, we had an excellent fish curry with rice, stir fried prawns and poppadoms. Yum! Breakfast is excellent too. The town centre is about 45 minutes away by car but taxis are cheap (use Grab) and the bus takes an hour but costs under 5 ringit per person each way. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. Recommend this hotel for a quiet and relaxing getaway

nice hotel close to the beach
a really beautiful place. instagram worthy, nice decor, comfortable room. pity i only stayed for 1 night. it's right beside the beach which is great. breakfast was ample and delicious too. not to mention Budi+Tony are great hosts!

Better than staying on redang island. An easy 5*
I can now understand why this place is rated 5/5. The hosts, Budi and Tony really put their hearts into running this b&b. Well done. This is wayyyyy better than staying on the island. Has a beach right in front of the house, lovely pool, and 2 servings breakfast each pax! This place is so quiet and peaceful. The pool water is so clean and felt so light swimming in them, it doesn't have the typical pool chlorine smell. If I could, I'd give them 6*. Hopefully they are the same when I return some day.

Pretty hotel close to the beach
Our stay at Alaya Malai exceeded expectations! Budi and Tony were extremely friendly and welcoming. Their home cooked dinner was yum and the rooms were new and very clean. Budi was kund enough to give us a lift to the jetty upon departure and stopped by a convenience store so we could get some cash and snacks to continue our journey. We really appreciated the little gifts provided and would definitely stay again!

The best stay we’ve ever had
This was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed and we can not fault our stay one bit. We instantly felt at home and we were treated like royalty. The staff were so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond for us throughout our entire stay. They even went to the effort of making us a little picnic each time we went to the beach. We will defiantly be back, it was the best experience. The building and interiors are beautiful and we just felt so welcome and enjoyed ever second of our time here. We didn’t want to leave and couldn’t have asked for a better time here. Thank you so much for providing such an amazing service and comfortable stay.
