Clean and comfy room, we slept wonderfully well! Nice hot shower, plenty of towels and a kettle in the room. We enjoyed walking to Scarborough Castle, St. Mary’s church and around the Pier from this location. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Wonderful stay

Easy to find. Perfectly located. Abundance of tourist information available. Nice rooms, clean and fresh. All the amenities. Service was out of this world. Tim made our stay so wonderful. We are so grateful and will definitely be back!

Excellently Located Guest House

Good communication from Tim, who gave us the heads-up re parking pre- and post-arrival - a friendly and helpful host. The beds were fine and the fridge/tea/coffee facilities were most welcome, as was the fan provided, which was thoughtful. Being an older property, one or two minor issues in the bathroom with dripping taps and a broken shower head but everything worked, so no complaints. This property is excellently located for the beaches and a very walkable town centre, so we would definitely consider reserving again.

Awesome little gem

This is definitely my ‘go to’ in Scarborough. Very clean, friendly staff, and parking. Rooms are small, but I would definitely choose this over a well known hotel chain. A couple of the rooms have a shared bathroom, but don’t let this put you off. Only downside for some may be the stairs which are steep and narrow. over the road is a great pub as well.

I had higher expectations for this place given the "exceptional" aggregate rating. Sadly, though the experience was mostly adequate, it was far less than other guest houses at which I have stated. On the plus side, the property is well located on the northern end of town and boasts lovely views of the water. It is mostly quiet, though the walls are thin. The room, although sufficient, was a bit dated and showing some signs of wear and tear. Cleanliness could be improved (the TV remote, for example, had visible dirt between the keys). Note also there is no cleaning service during the stay The biggest area of improvement would be the shared bathroom. It is quite small to use as a shower and oddly lacks hooks, shelves, or other spaces for towels and a change of clothes (aside from one small ring for a hand towel). The infrared light at night was also insufficiently calibrated to illuminate the hall. For longer-term guests, touching base at some point to make sure all is ok would help with good will. Aside from check-out, the only other contact was a very kind check-in, which went a long way in leaving a better impression.

We booked Thoresby Guest House as it was within 20 mins walking distance of Scarborough Open Air Theatre. We were given a warm welcome by Deania, manager of the Thoresby and shown our room. It was perfect for our needs. We had a view of the North Bay and a really comfy bed. Deania showed us a couple of other rooms in the morning as we checked out. There are room options for all party sizes. Thanks for a lovely stay. We would definitely book again.

Amazing little gem

This guest house is one of the cleanest properties I have stayed in. Rooms are compact, but comfortable. The shared bathroom isn’t really shared as a lot of the rooms have en-suite, so don’t let it put you off if that is the only room available. The towels provided are thick and fluffy. Deania the host is very welcoming and will make sure you are happy.
