The property is absolutely stunning! Very well maintained with an incredible view of the sea. The location is really good - walking distance from some great views and eating spots. The host, Janis, was super friendly, and happy to oblige with some great conversation and recommendations. The staff was also pro-actively helpful in organising logistics between the port and property.

Hidden Gem

A hidden Gem in Santorini Oia. Away from the crowd but just steps in Blue dome. Behind all crowded hotels and restaurants but has a surprisingly greater view of the sunrise. Villa has great floor layout, not a basement at all but a great suite with kitchen and sofa. Host Yanis was amazing, great restaurant tips to see sunset away from the crowd. Went to see dome 7-10 AM where no tour bus yet but just enjoying all the views without the crowd.

Great stay. The best hotel I stayed in during my visit to 4 different locations in Greece. It was very clean and modern. Great location as well. The staff took time to give you some advice when you checked in was nice. I will be returning again in the fall! My advice to the hotel would be to send the address instead of having the customer call. As an American I couldent just call. I had to download “what’s app” which took about 45 minutes.

The actual accommodations were fine but I would classify this more as an Airbnb. We had to wait in the freezing cold wind to be greeted to get help with our bags with a golf cart and the man who met us was rude and off putting. Then we went to “reception” which was just an outdoor table. He kept telling us we had to sit for a presentation. I asked if we could just go to our room and he said “that’s for me to decide”. We had been up since 3 am. He made us look up our reservation instead of having any paperwork on his end so we had to tell him what our room was called. Inside room there was no water bottles which should be bare minimum when you can’t drink tap. The location was ok, easy to walk to the busy area of Oia but the long path to the rooms was pretty far. Parking not included. No street parking. No breakfast. Second “room” was a loft up stairs with no door. Bathroom door had no closure so we had to use a doorstop. Plunge pool was unheated. He said “it is what it is”. We asked for golf cart help with bags to leave and they said it was outside of hours and wanted to charge an additional €80 just to take our bags to the street. Hence…it was an Airbnb.

Problems with billing and management

The location of this place and the size of the rooms was great but we were overbilled and weeks after our stay still can't get a refund. Prepay if you go there. My roommate checked in before me and they ran her card without giving her a receipt. We repeatedly ask for a receipt and struggled to get one. We were unable to before we had to leave. When we pointed out that we were overbilled, it took days to get a response before we stopped hearing from them altogether. It's been over three weeks since we left and we still haven't gotten our refund. Also, the hotels.com description said we would get a free bottle of wine, which we never did. The operator of the hotel was friendly but did not appear to have much contact with management. Also, they are not open all night, so be sure to arrive during the day. That said, there were more outlets than I'd expect and good water pressure. We had a cold plunge on our patio and our rooms were very spacious with a spacious common area. More mirrors in the suite would have been good for getting ready but the air conditioning was decent. The location is great, very near Oia town and a grocery store and cafe. That said, the property is set back from the main road along a little sidewalk. It's a long walk (maybe 400 meters) which is tricky to do with bags or in heels. The operator can take you in a cart if you give him advance notice.

We had a wonderful time at Apalada Suites. The suites were perfect for our family of 4 with plenty of space. The reception was very accommodating and responsive. It is a 10 minute walk to the main part of Oia and very peaceful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Aplada. The location is a walk away from many restaurants, shopping, and beaches. The Oia area is beautiful. We had everything we would need at Aplada. We were given great recommendations for places to explore and they helped book transfer from the airport.

This was a great stay! So close to the main area, literally less than 5 min walk off the property. And the suites were located in a quiet private area. The suite itself was very large and beautiful! We were excited about the plunge pool but it wasn't a really that big and the water was slightly cold, but that was expected for mid September. We still used the pool and enjoyed it a lot, it had a good view! I was told the pool could be heated manually by staff for an extra fee but we declined. The staff was so nice and helpful , we had a great stay.

This property is hidden and impossible to find if you are driving your own car. They did not provide the directions until we got lost and had to drive in Oia 2 times for 30 minutes each time since its only one way. Also once you reach there is a very long walk, going down is ok but coming back up was hard. Staff is nice.

We visited Oia for our 35th wedding anniversary and can certainly recommend the Aplada Suites. Paz and Yiannis were really welcoming and helpful both on our arrival and during our stay. The accommodation was clean, bright and airy with a comfortable bed and good shower which is always a plus for us. Breakfast was delivered every day at a time to suit which was really helpful providing us with flexibility during the week. Oia was busier than we anticipated so it was great that even though we were within walking distance of all the hustle and bustle the suites were a quiet little oasis away from it all when needed. Lovely view overlooking the Aegean Sea. It was our first visit to Santorini which we really enjoyed - with an added bonus of accommodation that didn’t disappoint. Thank you both and to your team.

Aplada Suites - a Gem!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Aplada Suites! Janis, Paz and the staff were AMAZING! We are of a mixed, multinational family and we were treated well and warmly! Our suite was amazing and the view totally splendid from sun rise through sunset. We even had a plunge pool right outside of our door! The location of Aplada Suites was phenomenal in that it was walking distance to the city center but yet secluded enough that when we returned from our adventures it was so peaceful and serene!!! We opted for the breakfast option and that was such a surprise treat because it was delivered right at our door and quite yummy!! :) When we needed something, both Janis and Paz were exceptional in their response and response time.

The 2-bedroom semi-basement suite was HUGE! The property was very quiet and overall very clean! And we even had an outdoor whirlpool, which was not in the writeup of the room… We did have a small hiccup at check-in but this was resolved the next morning.. no fuss! Getting to the property is by way of a long, very narrow driveway. To the property is downhill, so coming back to the main road is uphill, which is not ideal but in all fairness, Santorini is nothing but hills and stairs ;-) Small suggestion: if you provide Nespresso machines, you should also provide coffee capsules and milk/cream & sugar… otherwise, just provide a regular coffee maker! Overall, our stay was great and I would stay here again if staying in Oia 💕

Unexpected surcharge

My main complain is on the hotel charge. The hotel manger charged 3.9% euro to dollar markup without telling us. Our credit card does not charge foreign transaction fee. During our 2 weeks trip in Greece, this is the only incident. The overall stay is good. Minor down side is that the hotel is facing the quiet mostly undeveloped side, not famous caldera side. The room has a plunge pool, but the water is freezing cold. The hotel building is new and well maintained. The unit is clean and beautiful, with nice remodeling. The bedding only has a thin blanket. It was a little cold at night.

First and foremost I cannot say enough about the level of care I received from both Paz and Gianis. I could not believe how invested they were in making sure we made the most of our time on Santorini. They are absolutely the most available and communicative hosts I have ever experienced in all of my travels. Gianis took a bit of time to get to know us based on our past experiences and then provided recommendations for us based on what he thought we might like. These were solid recommendations. Paz was vary available on Whatsapp and was able to give us near real time recommendations. Beyond the personal hospitality provided, the suites themselves are great. It is a very fast walk in and out of the heart of Oia. For me and my wife it was great to get into Oia and take in all of the action but then quickly escape it back to the Aplanda suites. Each of the upper suites have a nice terace and plunge pool. It was great to watch sunsets right from the terrace relaxing in the lounger and enjoying some wine. I would stay here again and again when visiting Santorini.

The people who managed the property (Yiannis and Paz) were absolutely excellent, great communicators, very friendly and helpful. The property was ok but it is a basic, self catering apartment. That's not a bad thing, but the amenities listed on Expedia include such things as a SWIMMING POOL that doesn't exist, Egyptian cotton sheets (the bedding we had for a double bed was a basic single uncovered duvet), a 55" TV with satellite channels was actually a 32" TV with 5 basic channels only, a pillow menu(really??), etc. In short - the property is ok, but the owners have been dishonest in the description in order to achieve a much higher price than the property is worth renting for. It is what it is - a simple, basic, self catering apartment with minimal amenities, a couple of the apartments have a 4ft square plunge pool(made to look like a massive swimming pool in the photographs). It should not be described or priced as anything other. Cleanliness was ok, but could be slightly better especially with the cooking area. Someone came in a couple of times to make the bed, but we had to ask for towel changes, bins to be emptied, etc.. But again the managers were very friendly towards requests. Location is great, it's about 200m up a gradual slope from the main road, 100m further into the pedestrian area into Oia. There are no facilities at the site other than what you get in your apartment. If you book this place, be aware you are booking a basic apartment, not like the description!

Chambres d’hôtes rudimentaires mais propres. Emplacement plutôt à l’écart de la ville donc bien pour ceux qui souhaitent un peu de calme. Par contre, logement très mal insonorisé. Les maisons sont divisées en plusieurs logements, ceux qui ont le logement du bas outre le fait qu’il soit sombre et que les fenêtres donnent sur un mur et un escalier, la piscine n’est pas accessible pour les habitants de ce logement. Le prix est du coup plutôt excessif pour une chambre à la cave.

Cadre très agréable au cœur des champs de vigne à 5mn à pied du village d’Oia avec une vue sur les îles à proximité vous pouvez profiter du lever et coucher de soleil depuis l’appartement si vous avez bien choisi. Pas d’accueil mais les instructions reçues par whatsapp arrivés vers 19h30-20h Parking est payant 16€/ jour en espèces (annonce 14€) et la piscine est à 10mn à pied après négociation dans un autre établissement Nikos Villa. Conservation possible des bagages et transfert aéroport (45€ par trajet et pas par personne en espèces) distributeur ATM à proximité ainsi que restaurants, supermarchés, bus, taxi et location de voiture VAZEOS (40€/jour pour une C1). Lit confortable mais changement quotidien des draps et des serviettes, le ménage journalier obligatoires et non à la demande ou moins fréquents, et les produits de toilette fournis en petits tubes (pas très ecolo) Équipement pour 2 uniquement (assiettes, verres….) frigo, télé dans le coin salon, fenêtres avec moustiquaires Climatisation possible pas utilisée Pas très insonorisé quand tous les appartements sont occupés.
