The position with room facing the sea excellent. Very narrow corridors. Dated hotel decor. Sraff very helpful. Very clean room. I woukd definteky visit again if price was right and i could be guaranteed a similar room with sea view. Area of Sandown very run down

Nice sea view and there are few public spots outside the hotel. But the room not so clean, with hair on the bedsheets. The toilet not look the same as the Expedia picture. Not recommend

Comfortable hotel with great seaviews.
Comfortable rooms with great seaviews. There was a little confusion at reception on our arrival as they didn't seem to know that we had already paid. Hotel is popular with coach tours so dining room got very busy, that said service was still excellent. Entertainment in evenings was a single singer with prerecorded music as back up but was really good (60s to 90s songs). No air-conditioning, but a fan was provided in rooms. Staff friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

Clean and comfortable
An attractive hotel on the seafront. I had a seaview room. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a little tired in places, but overall it was good. My double glazed window had moisture inside it and this was a little disappointing given I paid extra for the view out of the window. It wasn't bad enough to complain however, but it would have been nice being able to see through the window easily.

Not worth for the money.
The overall stay was ok. Cleaning service was very poor. They did not clean well and they have not changes the bedsheets. Water in the shower was not working. The water was pouring not good for taking shower. Toilet flush was not working which means you have to press flush for five times.

Thank you for the review. We are obviously disappointed with your comments. We would not usually change the sheets during a short break of 3 nights unless specifically requested, and we are sure this would be the case with most hotels. We were not aware of the issues with the shower and the toilet so will certainly look into those.

hmm if you want to go back to the 1950's book now. The overall area is disappointing -- nice beach tho. Restaurants are all below par. Service is terrible. I wonder if it's because many in the service industry have gone back to Europe? In any event... avoid. oh.. and book a taxi well in advance.

Thank you for your review. We are disappointed you feel that way but happy other other guests do not share your opinions. The majority of our staff were furloughed and stayed with us during the pandemic so your speculation about European staff is off base. The regulations in place have resulted in different operational procedures which put extra pressure on serving staff, and we are sorry if we did not meet your expectations.

Friendly welcome and very well organised in terms of meeting COVID restrictions. Whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Comfortable room, comfortable bed and well designed bathroom. Good value for money & excellent Expedia booking options of cancellation policy and room payment on arrival. thoroughly enjoyed our stay & look forward to returning later in the year.

Good base to see the island
Hotel and rooms very clean and bed was very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Sandown itself is a bit run down, but the hotel is a good base from which to explore the island.

Great location on the seafront, with wonderful Sea view. Room very clean and decent size, and well maintained. Great staff, and all trying very hard to make the Covid restrictions work as well as can be done.

Bed no breakfast
On booking this hotel via Hotels.com there was no option to book a child breakfast. When I checked in at the hotel, I booked breakfast for the following morning and paid half price for my daughter. We discussed the fact that my daughter wanted to try some local cafes for breakfast, combined with other days eating breakfast in the hotel. We were not advised at check-in that we should book for the entire week of our stay. On our second day, I rang reception at 7 am to book breakfast because I had not booked it the night before. I was told it was not possible to book breakfast because the restaurant was full, but that I should ring back at 8 am as the receptionist on duty at that time had more power. At 8.15 am I rang again and was told that the restaurant was full. I was really annoyed that a 3-star hotel would book guests into rooms with no capacity to provide them with breakfast. If breakfast is full, then extend the unusually short 8 am to 9.30 am slot! The receptionist finally said we could eat there that day but unfortunately my daughter found the process too stressful and we went out for breakfast. We were told we could not book any breakfasts for the remainder of our stay. This is a shocking failure of hospitality. We ate breakfast elsewhere all week and our feeling about the hotel was damaged. I travel regularly for work and with my family and I have never had such an unwelcoming experience. The way the receptionist treated me and spoke to me was disgusting.

This hotel is best located next to the beach and had sea view U could get in the sand and come back to your room in 2 min Breakfast is personalised and high quality service. Rooms are clean Just need shower to have more force It is mild But the best value for money

Nice location,next to the beach and pier & highstr
Good.Apart from not having AC and some works under construction outside the window.Lobby should be a bit bigger & more seats required esp. for the elderly..Lift is too small to accommodate.Parking is free and for use for private customers..Room is perfect for the family,appears clean and tidy..Hallways are so narrow....But in general,we would still recommend this hotel to everyone..Cheers.

Good position beach in front
Its in a good position right in front of the Sandy beach. A lot of coaches use this hotel and was the reason our breakfast time started at 8.30. We were not offered an alternative. It has a lift which for us is essential. Plenty of fire doors. Decor dated but ok. Breakfast was adequate. English was on very small plate one of everything and repetitive. No biscuits with tea and coffee in room and twice had to ask for more milk!!

Nice hotel to stay with a Beach view
Beach view double room is good, neat and clean. The restaurant staff was very helpful. The receptionists can be bit more helpful. Overall a good stay for a night with the family and enjoyed the seaside view.

A great and relaxing vacation
Our stay at Isle of Wight was amazing. We had a very good experience at trouville hotel. Beach was right in front of the hotel. We could see from our room window. Sandown pier was 2 to 3 mins away. Gift Shops, restaurants, grocery shops were quite near as well. Overall it was a great and relaxing vacation.

Loved the charm of this Hotel
The hotel is dated but this adds to the charm. The staff are extremely friendly & helpful. The night we stayed the was a country & western singer which we absolutely loved. There is free wifi in the bar but thats about it. Right on the beach front with the pier a couple of minutes walk.

Great location, clean and efficient
We enjoyed our stay - the room was clean, staff was very friendly, breakfasts were good. Bar and lounge area was very nice and a great place to relax with a with a view of the sea. Room was very hot and stuffy when we arrived, but staff unlocked window restrictor after raising this with them, and this made a big difference with the breeze able to air the room. Internet access was poor, with the wifi service not reaching our room and general mobile signal being quite weak.

We only advertise as having Wifi in the public areas of the hotel but will take your feedback on board and we may extend this to the bedrooms in the future. Unfortunately the Isle of Wight in general does not receive great mobile phone coverage. We hope to welcome you back to the Trouville again in the future.

Good location opposite beach
This hotel appears good when first visiting but there is no Wifi anywhere above the ground floor and no service on you phone whilst in the hotel. Only facilities is two bowls mats and a table tennis table. Parking opposite hotel is free from October 31st to March 1st subject to availability only. Shops nearby and excellent beach. Staff are efficient but no personality in most of them. Cleaners are excellent but mould in bathroom. Breakfast is ok but not very well cooked. Cold breakfast is good.
