"The Legoland Hotel combines some great features with a few odd peculiarities. The rooms are fabulously decorated and have lots of features that will appeal to children - bunkbeds, televisions, lego, and a rewarding puzzle. We had a knights and dragons room in the Castle Hotel, which was spacious and fun. It had a mini-fridge, which is good, but I think we would also have benefited from having a microwave. The room is pretty pricey for what you get, and parking at $40 a night is also pretty steep. But the benefit is that you are minutes from the front gate of Legoland and can enter the park early.
The hotel has a good sized pool, which we did not use since we went to the water park in Legoland. It also has a couple of play structures which are good for a few minutes' play. Each day there are lego movies outside, which was a nice touch.
The downsides: the check-in process is pretty impersonal and I found it a little difficult to find staff members to help with questions. Breakfast was included in our room rate but getting into breakfast at the restaurant was challenging: we needed to be ready to wait for around half an hour before sitting to breakfast. Since breakfast is a buffet I think it could be far better organized. It was a significant problem for us since we wanted to take advantage of the early entry to Legoland."
