Embassy Suites by Hilton San Marcos Hotel Conference Center

"Breakfast was not good Embassy suite quality we are accustomed to and that was the main reason we chose it. Happy hour snacks were non existent. There was a dance competition in town which might have contributed to that and one of the elevators was not operational and therefore it caused very long lines and wait times to get to and from our room. Was unable to use the pool due to the over occupancy."
"My second time staying at this property and I will not be back for a holiday weekend. The cabin was great. The pool area was obnoxious. There was little regard for paying hotel guests as the pool was crowded with friends of the owner and 10+ very young friends of the dj. Before entering the pool I was asked by a man (it was not clear that he worked there) if I was a guest and what cabin # I was staying in. Very uncomfortable situation as a female traveling alone. It’s a very nice property and I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit. Completely different vibe on the weekend while school is still in session."
"Outside of the property very dirty. Surprisingly, even the entrance to the office glass door and surrounding glass and handle very dirty. Inside the entry way are to use machines could be cleaned. The whole area needs TLC.
The one flight of stairs to the second floor all day yesterday and today at check out had what appears to be throw-up which was already spreading along the other steps. So in and out of our room we didn’t feel clean we felt yucky.
I saw black spot stains on my son sheet, he managed to toss and turn and I saw the mattress cover bigger black and yellow stain. My husband after showering said he felt dirty, I smelled his towel he asked me to and it’s smelled of like old oil. Mine was ok. Luckily, we had two towels of our own.
The double beds I think was not queen but full size. We managed and made it work for the few days.
We had a $49 dollar and change rate since Friday. But I still expected better!"

"Clean room was the best part of the stay. The property in general is old and needs maintenance. The fire alarm in the room was beeping in the middle of the night and there were flickering lights in hallways."
"Shower soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensing set up was not effective at all. The soap was completely empty and the conditioner was extremely low.
Pool needed to be vacuumed."
