This is a very quiet place close to Sabana Park. It is great location to go to San Jose or Escazu. It was very comfortable and well equiped in the little apartment

I went there primarely for the location. I was dissapointed that their was no bar and the restaurant only served breakfast. Staff was extremely friendly.

Nice. We are going back.

We found Soluxe El Sesteo Hotel to be plain but charming. It has a lovely courtyard and a good typical Costa Rican breakfast. The ambience is more homey than a big corporate chain hotel. The area is quiet which is a big plus in San Jose. We did not scout the area for restaurants or grocery. Beds were quite firm. We will be returning and spending a week in one of their apartments which has a kitchen and sitting area for very little more than a standard room.

Very kind, professional, and helpful front desk staff. Beautiful garden and pool area--they clearly hired a caring gardener with an eye for detail to do their flowers. EXCELLENT breakfast--wow!! Fresh fruit juice, perfect coffee (with warm milk for cafe con leche!). Great selection of breakfast choices. The room was wonderful--I was just a little grossed out by carpet in the tropics--but it might have been completely mental, I forget if I smelled mustiness. The hot/cold water tap was finicky, which made for adventurous showers, and I made the mistake of filling a glass of water from the kitchen sink tap (on my second stay, 10 days later, through the school program), and it was full of mold. But that's the tropics for ya! Overall an absolutely wonderful stay!!! Thank you, Soluxe El Sesteo!

Good place to stay in San Jose.

Just using a stop over to travel to other locations in Costa Rica. Very nice hotel, clean, good staff, and facilities. Nice location on the edge of town, but close enough to walk to some good restaurants & shops and there is a large city park (La Sabana) a few blocks away.

great value for family traveling

Very good hotel if you have children. Many costa Rica hotels advertise kitchenette rooms but then do not have stove or big refrigerator and almost always they don't work. This hotel was great in that the stove oven refrigerator all worked. Also they have a pool and a hot tub and the hot tub actually worked great. Trust me when i say 90% of the hotels that advertise on hotels.com say they have a pool and or hot tub and they never work. This hotel has all the ammennities and they all worked. Great value and great staff

A gem of a place

Great place for the money. Friendly staff. Good service. Danielle, who worked at the front desk was wonderful. Very safe and secure place with lots of tropical plants. I really enjoyed my 2 week stay. It was a great base in which to tour.

Nice loaction & good base

Really nice pool area and generally has everything you need. Breakfast was nice! The staff are really helpful, as I was ill and needed to go to hospital, they rang a taxi for me and spoke to my embassy for me too. Helped me change US$ to local currency and checked on me when I got back from hospital.

Muy dificil a encontrar, falta un signo buen visible del hotel. Jardin muy lindo, habitaciones y banos necesitan una renovacion. El equipo muy amable, pero falta la profesionalidad. Se dice, que un restorante en el hotel , pero no hay ningun. No voy a recomender este hotel, hay mejores en San Jose en la misma categoria y precios.

Basic hotel in San Jose

Pretty basic hotel, got all the amenities but nothing fancy. I was concerned that all the windows facing the street had bars on them, and the front entrance is always locked. But once inside the premises it looks nice. The front desk people were really nice and helpful. There were not a lot of stores or restaurants in the neighborhood.

Location is great - Internet terrible

All good except internet is awful. Also, vI don't know if it's the hotel or the electric company's dault, but both my iPhone and iPad stopped charging at the end of my first day there. It turned out that I had to pay $285 to get a reburshished iPhone because everything was blown. I'm at my local Apple store in the US right now and they will probably have to do the same thing with the iPad !!! So, aside from the hotel charges, it cost me another $570 to replace my two devices with refurbished ones !!!!
