Sushi restaurant was total scam. On the menu it was $23 for 25 roll and came out near $40. With excg rate 485, it was 11,163 colones. On the bill 19,414. Even with the higher excg rate the price didn't add up. Tempura was also about 40% up from menu price. 10% service and 13% IVA was extra. Hotel staff at entrance area were also very unwelcoming and rude. Breakfast and happy hour was excellent. Reception and all other staff were very nice. But again, Sushi restaurant staff, males especially looked at us like aliens and did not show any kind of welcome gesture.

the hotel was clean and well decorated. The staff were excellent and the bar was well stocked and the service was excellent. My only observation, is that for a property that large, it should have a small club vive place, nothing over the top. I didn't see a game room, like pool tables etc. if you have it, then I didn't see it.

Good Hotel, attention to service needs work

The hotel itself is nice with the normal amenities one would expect from an Intercontinental Hotel. Unfortunately my experience included a room that had a leak in the ceiling. We are not talking about a drip, drip leak--we are talking full blown waterfall. I had to deal with that 3 times with multiple towels and ZERO response from the hotel. At check out, they offered to compensate a meal, but that never happened and really wasn't the issue. they should have just come and fixed the problem when it was reported. In addition to that, while the cost of Costa Rica is generally high, the excessive costs of food and drink at this hotel were way higher than expected--but the quality was very good.

The hotel is very well located. I booked a room with a pool view but unfortunately, the person from reception gave us another room with no nice view. If you try to call the front desk or even room service you will be lucky to get through, the hallway was dirty, and when we arrived to the hotel no one helped us with our luggage not even a welcoming greet, was not what I expected, until now I still have problems with my payment, the hotel still has my preauthorization charge and not my final charge after my departure.
