Very well located. Closed by parking are very expensive. Quite noisy between 5AM and midnight (note that i live country side). price is good for the location
Hotel Novo is a plain, decent hotel. Everything works. The staff is friendly and helpful. Good rates, with a good breakfast included. The neighborhood is typical of a busy city. Best of all, the hotel is around the corner from Avenida Central, a long, lively pedestrian mall that includes the vibrant Mercado Central.
The hotel is reliable and functional. The staff were friendly and helpful. The block in front of it isn't that great, but it's around the corner from the pedestrian mall that leads to the mercado and other shopping, food, and drinks. Very convenient. Good value.

A very basic but clean and friendly hotel. It is very close to the bus stations (ex: Tuaso bus to the airport)....2 minutes walk with luggage. The hotel is in the downtown, central market areas....lots of butcher shops, clothes shopping, fast food, and casinos. The breakfast is simply but good. The staff is friendly and professional. No luxury but safe, clean, and friendly.
We took the local bus from San Jose airport to the Tuasa bus station. Just a short walk from the station brought us to Novo hotel, which is located in the thick of the city. Walking from the hotel to the National Museum and other sights was easy and interesting, with shops, buskers and street sellers to explore on the way. The hotel itself is a little dated, but our room was big with a comfortable bed, got walk - in shower, fridge, good a/c and TV. The 24 hour reception gave us easy check out when we left at 5am to catch the bus back to the airport. This was a great place to stay in San Jose.

Room was a good size, very clean, good air condition, large bright windows, comfy double bed, clean bathroom with hot shower, tv worked fine many English channels, felt secure, and quiet, decent breakfast in the morning, helpful friendly staff.
Location convenient where Paseo Colon meets Avenida Central close to Central Market.
The area requires caution at night.
Overall was pleased with the hotel which offers a lot for the relatively inexpensive price, my girlfriend and I would definitely go back.
Great location! You can walk to nearby shops, parks, restaurants, and a bus station that goes to the airport. I love that we can leave our luggage and they have a place to hold it so we can drop our car off. The on-site restaurant is delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The street traffic can get a little noisy but I can easily fall back asleep. I have stayed here before and will continue to do so in the future.
Right around the corner of the hotel is the central avenue. There are museums, parks, central market on both sides of the avenue. I can walk to them in less than 30 mins. It is also closed to various bus stations, such as the NICA, TICA and Terminal 7.10. In the night time, I prefer to take UBER.
The staff are very nice. The hotel provided breakfast. The room is exactly same as the pictures.
The Hotel Novo was as described, great staff, hotel could do with some tlc but I was only one night here arriving late from the airport and heading to the Pacific next day. Room was clean, bed was comfy, WiFi worked fine and breakfast was much appreciated. Couldn't adjust the air con but that could have been user error from my side. Can't really complain from a price/quality point of view. Also there was no noise but I was not on the street side. Really handy if you are using the bus station.
We had a very comfortable stay and the breakfast was excellent. It was perfect for what we needed and at a good price. The safe and one of the lights didn’t work. As it’s central, it is noisy in the mornings.
Very convenient for the centre of San Jose. The rooms and bathroom were dated but clean. It was noisy at night as in the centre but ear plugs did the trick
It was ok for the price. Breakfast was ok.
It's in a dodgy area, so don't go outside after dark on your own and keep phones, jewellery and valuables out of sight

Great place to stay if you want to get a real feel for San Jose. It’s not super pretty but I felt safe and it had everything I needed
Great staff. The only con was the low water pressure in the shower. Bear in mind that there's constant music from shops around during the whole day, if your room faces the street (it didn't matter to me in general, just when I had online meetings 😂)
It sufficed. Some of the fixtures and fittings (electrical sockets) did not work, could be cleaner, a bit run down and in a run down neighbourhood. Not too bad a place, also not too good
The Hotel is located in the worst part of San Jose, there were people sleeping on the sidewalks which was piled with garbage, you were warned not to go out the Hotel during the night, I requested a refund of part of the fees, but they refused, I spent three nights and had to move to a safer area in San Juan, San Jose.
