Tintern Abbey

Situated in County Wexford, and overlooking the south coast of Republic of Ireland, the ancient Tintern Abbey stands on the edge of a small area of woodland on the crystalline waters of the Barrow Bay inlet. Surrounded by lush greenery, this Cistercian abbey was built at the turn of the 13th Century by the then Earl of Pembroke, who swore to build an abbey here after his boat was caught in a storm off the nearby coast. Named after Tintern Abbey in Wales, County Wexfordโs abbey is now in ruins.

"The hotel is a lovely hotel in a great location. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Most of the staff were helpful, though the woman at the initial check-in was less than helpful, instructing us to remove our vehicle as quickly as possible from the temporary spot where we were planning to remove our bags. Quite โantipaticaโ as they say. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable stay."

"The rooms are lovely and boutique like with lovely big walk in shower. The beds are comfy. The rooms are a bit hot but they leave you a fan so that helps. The bar and staff are lovely. The food is fab. There is parking Nxt to the hotel itโs very convenient and ily โฌ5 over night. You are right in the centre of everything."
