Salinas hotels from RM275

"The hotel was definitely a 4 star, the rooms were as stated ++, We did not want a car because of the high fee to park and I was told that if we needed short dist, trans, that it was complimentary + tip of course, 290 rooms 1 vehicle, that did not work! Very poor communication on this between the front desk, concierge and the valet. We ended up walking a lot and I have a back issue. The food and service were great and reasonable priced. The views were spectacular. The weather was cold, 60 ish, which is ok for outside but the lobby which has entertainment nightly was also mid 60's. We were told that if we complained they might turn on the heat, didn't happen. The entertainment and service were great! The hotel seems to cater more to business and large group gatherings and not the young family oriented. This being said, if you are aware of this ahead of time you can make it work, Overall it was a great anniversary stay with only a few glitches!"

"Honestly this place was horrible. Walked into our room to it smelling like mold. Had to fight the window open to air it out. Everything was super outdated. I kid you not every single piece of furniture was missing knobs. We got 4 towels total. 2 body towels, 2 face towels. One of the body towels had two holes, with one hole big enough to fit my arm through. Went to the front desk to ask for more, they said they were all out, and they could have someone bring towels in the morning (when we checked out). The TV would only turn on and off and displayed “Welcome to the bay park hotel” and even the buttons on the tv were messed up. The volume controlled the channel lol. We eventually just gave up with the tv. There was bright red hair in the shower drain and the water wouldn’t drain so we felt disgusting even getting in the shower at all. We wished we had brought shower shoes. The outlets wouldn’t hold a plug so we had to charge our electronics in the bathroom. The breakfast had no protein other than the pre packaged hard boiled eggs that were warm to the touch and weren’t sitting in the fridge the whole morning. Same with the yogurt. During our stay our card to the room stopped working and we had to take 3 trips to the front desk to have it resolved because she got the room number wrong despite having to verify my info to pull up our stay (didn’t have our wallets because we went to breakfast). The floors were also so dirty they made my white socks turn almost black."

"this is a property in needs for renovation, bedding was bad, room not insulated and noisy, rudimentary amenities (no safe in the room for example) and staff not very flexible (would not consider late checkout on a sunday, would only turn the beds if you asked for it ) - the only positive is the location."

"the Location is great, and great views from bar/restaurant. Facility looks old and tired, with our room size nice it featured a jacuzzi tub in the middle of the bedroom that ate up a lot of space with this old not used anymore feature. Floors in our room we linoleum planks that were cast to look like wood grain, and the shower faucets were worn out and came off in my hand when I was determining how to turn on the water in the shower. Lighting was imbalanced from various types of lighting all mixed together; yellow bulbs, white bulbs, fluorescent tube bulbs, LED bulbs and incandescent bulbs sometimes mixed together in the same fixture to create a twilight zone type eeriness when the lights were on in the room. Fireplace in the room had the entire room smelling of smoke, but i believe that was because of the age and lack of cleaning of chimney."
