"Great staff! There was a mishap with my reservation at another hotel and it was a weekend of spring break, soccer tournaments and other events in the New Orleans area. It was practically impossible to get a hotel that night. I called this place and the receptionist was lovely and not only did they find me a room, they went the extra mile by offering to hold the room for me while I purchased the reservation on Expedia. That level of customer service is appreciated."

The room was clean overall but with some minor damage (e.g. a wooden clothes hanging rack had a broken dowel and was unuseable). One of the elevators was also out of commission although signs indicated maintenance was on the way). "I loved my experience at the Mercantile. The staff was incredibly friendly. The room was very convenient to the convention center and other places. The bedding was comfortable, and I loved having a separate sitting room. If I attend another conference at the convention center, it will be my go-to place."
