Great room with some unfortunate oversights.

This was my first stay at this charming Victorian style building. Hands down this was twice the room we could have had for a comparable price at a mainstream chain hotel. The bathroom unfortunately was an unnecessary disappointment. The toilet had a plumbing issue and footing in the shower was a challenge with no bath mat and a shower curtain that was coming apart and underfoot. These deficiencies were in stark contrast to the rest of the building, so I believe they may have simply been oversights.

It was a surprise to us that parking was not included. Furthermore the garage we had to pay to park in had trash strewn about and very moldy smell and scary feeling. Our view on the 3rd floor was a large parking lot under construction with bright lights at night. No light blocking shade was provided in the bedroom.

Charming but small

Not bad for a hotel where you are unlikely to encounter any but housekeeping staff. Inside parking area reminds me of Europe. So does the room size. However we were comfortable. Recommended!

Dans un bâtiment historique remarcable, il y a un coin cuisine complet (un gros plus pour les longs séjours) les chambres par contre pourraient représenter un peu plus le style d’époque, matériaux de cuisine et meuble télé/bureau qui détonnent et font meubles 1980 bas de gamme. Sinon très bon choix!

Close to everything

Walking distance to major attractions. Slightly older air conditioning unit was not the most efficient. Fridge noises scared the bejeesus out of me in the night. To be expected though from historical building. All in all very satisfied.

Really nice

Excellent job converting a historic house into a quasi-hotel. Great location, and a very good price. The only two negatives were thin walls between rooms, and staff not being on site.

Comfort, character and close to uptown and harbour

Great room. Comfortable and nice little kitchenette. Great decor in keeping with historic character of house. Cleaning staff often on premises and very friendly. Only glitch with offsite reception was my oversight. Arrived very early and had not thought to give prior notice so keys not out for pickup. However, cleaning staff was there and quickly got me set up with my room. Good information package for guests and desk staff quickly available by phone if questions. Location superb. So close and walkable to historic uptown, farmers market and harbour

Excellent service in Saint John. Enjoyable stay.

Amazing service from Jayne one of the administrators. The property doesn't have a 24 hour check-in, so she arranged for my luggage to be stored by one of the house-keepers when I was off exploring the city on my last day after check-out. My little suite had all the amenities I needed. Very thoughtful service.

For my business needs a small inexpensive room is all I require so this fit the bill. It is basically like a dorm room with a small fridge, stove, microwave and kitchen sink. The drawback is the lack of parking after midnight. Had to go to a nearby parking garage.

Perfect place in uptown Saint John.

The hotel is a delightful Victorian style building with antique furniture. Wonderful bed and a comfortable sitting area in front of the large flatscreen tv. Well stocked kitchenette. Perfect for lengthy stays so you'll feel at home. Not much in the way of housekeeping on weekends or holidays.
