I am however pleased that you found the room to be good value for money, I have checked the phone and it looks as though the housekeeping team missed this off their checks; I have raised the concern with our contractors who are just finishing our six figure refurbishment to look at additional sound proofing in this room.

Howard, Thanks for the feedback. I have since checked the TV and its now been resolved. Parking can be challenging but I understand the team on reception were very helpful and directed you to the carpark we have available and also sorted out inputting your reg number in to the parking app.

The room I assigned had a very strong smell of paint fumes that would have made me sick had I stayed. I turned on the tap in the bathroom and brown water came out. I explained this to the receptionist (who was very friendly and helpful) and asked for another room. He didn't have any so he kindly refunded my booking and found me another hotel nearby. I generally stay in budget hotels and hostels. I do not expect luxury - just basic facilities. But this is the first time I have been confronted with a room that was clearly not fit for human habitation.

Good Morning David,Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, as you would have noticed the hotel has just undergone a full refurbishment in all rooms, I appreciate the feedback regard paint fumes; the room had been decorated a few days prior to your arrival. I am yet to expereince any further feedback regarding brown water and I personally checked the room that you were due to arrive in and could not find any issues? to say that the room was not fit for human habitation I feel is a little strong. however I am pleased that you found my team helpful in organising another budget hotel in the area.

Rugby stink pit
Not great, only one staff working, customers were waiting to be served in the bar/restaurant, the bar didn’t take cash? This place is in dire need of a refurbishment, The room smelt of damp and the carpets and curtains are dirty, certainly not worth the £85 I paid, I definitely wouldn’t stay here again unless some major changes were made.☹️

A pleasant stay.
A really good stay . More sockets in room would help and bedside lights not great. The hotel could do with a makeover to bring out its full glory. But it was clean and quiet with good staff. We did not eat there.

This was exactly what I required for an overnight stay. A small, clean, comfortable room. There were no frills, but there were no essentials lacking. Tea/coffee and biscuits provided. Decent towels and soap, shampoo, etc. In the bathroom. Reasonable cost. Didn’t have time for the bar or breakfast.

Inordinately expensive, my room was noisy
For the quality of the hotel the price of £75 per night is far too expensive, considering it did not include breakfast. To put it in perspective, I stayed the night before in the Hilton in London for £65 including breakfast. I did not eat any food at the accommodation so I can only comment on the room. The hotel is conveniently located to many amenities, shops, market, small nearby parks. It's approximately a 20min from Rugby train station. I had single bed in a room that was very basic. The room had been cleaned as had the ensuite. A small selection of tea bags and coffee were available in the room. There was a TV about the approximately 18 inch. Pretty small. My room was to the rear of the building. A lot of noise was made towards the back of the building and as the windows had glass slats at the top for ventilation the noise transmitted to the room easily. The Information contained within the room booklet indicated that there was a partnership with the local gym and by contacting the reception that would arrange a pass. Upon contacting the reception, they advised they were unsure and would get back to me. I did not hear back. The Wifi speed in the room was inconsistent, but mainly poor.

Good clean value for money central Rugby hotel
The Rugby Hotel has a great location in central Rugby. It is great value for money - a simple, basic, clean ensuite room for well under £100 including breakfast. .Breakfast was a pleasant surprise - we had a full English breakfast perfectly cooked. The staff are friendly and helpful. Service is great. Ask for a room at the front or you may get early morning traffic noise. There are no lifts, so you may need to negotiate one or two flights of stairs. There is a pub and a restaurant attached to the hotel and you are spoiled for choice with the numerous pubs and restaurants and shops all within a 1-5 minute walk. There is no parking but we paid and didplayrd in the nearby Asda with no issues. I’ve stayed here several times and I will stay again.

Great little hotel in the center of Rugby
Stayed here on a business trip with a colleague. The girl on reception was very helpful and friendly, answered all our questions with ease. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable, my room had sockets close to the bed which helped with phone charger. We had a couple of drinks in the bar and again the girl who was working behind the bar was friendly and helpful. We didn't eat in the hotel but the food did look good. The music playlist that was on in the bar was great, excellent selection of tunes from when I was younger. There is no car parking near the hotel however there is a shopping centre car park a 5 minute walk away and you can get your parking half price if you ask at reception in the hotel. We parked there but be aware it closes from 7pm to 7am, this didn't effect our trip but could be an issue if you needed to leave early as I don't know how you would access your vehicle outside of these times, there were other options available in the area. In summary excellent friendly staff who the manager should try to hold onto (even if they mishear a pint of coke as a pint of vodka and question you on your drink choice), good music, comfy room, if staying in rugby again I will more than likely stay here again.
