Roissy-en-France, the Gateway to France, is a quiet, rustic Gallic-Roman village in the green valleys of Val-d'Oise.

Book a stay in Roissy-en-France to enjoy a traditional French town, with a peaceful atmosphere you won’t find in nearby Paris. Cobblestone streets, galleries, churches and pâtisseries await you in this rustic village. The larger region is home to a number of ancient churches and a theme park based on a famous French cartoon.Roissy-en-France is just a short drive from bustling Paris and next to the well-connected Charles de Gaulle International Airport. The town’s population is fewer than 3,000, but it has many hotels and restaurants that cater to the thousands of people who choose it as a stopover each year. Stretch your legs with a stroll around town. The village square, Place du Pays de France, and parks are nice spots to relax. Grab a fresh baguette from one of the local pâtisseries, or take a seat on a café’s terrace and enjoy a café au lait (coffee with milk). The historical town hall, called La Mairie in French, is the most significant building. The modern L'Orangerie is the cultural centre and has art exhibits and performances in its theatre.Various notable churches are nearby. Royaumont Abbey to the north is from the 13th century, while St. Denis Basilica, closer to the town centre, is a model for Gothic architecture. If you’re travelling with children, head to Parc Astérix in nearby Plailly. This large amusement park is based on the cartoon adventures of Asterix and Obelix and has dozens of rides and shows. As the evening falls, head to the local restaurants and bistros for classic French cuisine. There is no nightlife to speak of, so if you are looking for entertainment, head to Paris for countless options. The Metro line to Paris is in the airport, which is only a short taxi ride away from Roissy-en-France.If you plan to reach Paris by plane, Roissy-en-France is a great option as a place to stay. It is called the Gateway for Paris for this very reason and it welcomes foreign travellers with open arms

The area is really only good for staying before a flight. Too far from anything in Paris to really make sense for anything else.

Please please please please can get direct trains/buses/coaches to Paris for your PAYING guests. If it wasn’t for the tourists you wouldn’t be as popular. As a first time customer I wasn’t impressed as the trains from CDG to Paris are terrible!
