"Not very clean. We had a cockroach in our bedroom and we also saw a cockroach in the breakfast area."

This property is not in a location that would need to have exclusive rights to parking and charging to park here is ridiculous. The hotel is located in an area all by itself. "We enjoyed our stay at Hampton Inn, Salem. The front desk staff was kind and helpful. The faculty was clean, and it was easy to get on and off the highway. A simple fix would make this a great place to stay. Provide pillows that have some stuffing. With three pillows, I still could not get a normal pillow height nor any support. Next time, I will bring my own. Overall, a great stay. The shower was great, too."

"Staff was brand new and in the phone messed up my reservation and charged me twice then. The manager didn’t want to give me a refund, even though the staff and their new system messed up my reservation. The hotel was good but the service was terrible"

"Clean room, helpful staff. I asked if there were complimentary toothbrushes and toothpaste which I received. After the visit I learned that they were in fact not “complimentary,” meaning free. Wouldn’t have gotten it had I known that. Otherwise, it was a good experience."

"Lobby area and bar were fine, but the room and hallways smelled like old wet clothes. The smell in the hall was just as bad. Had to open sliding door overnight to help. Dark and dingy overall. Not worth the Marriott price tag by any means. Not a hotel I will come back to. Also, they charge extra if you drive. Really, $5 to park at the hotel Im staying at."

"The property is undergoing renovations so there was the expected construction dust and things around. However that night the fire alarm went off and they evacuated the hotel for safety precautions! I had just dozed off, there was a small child who was scared to death! The gentleman at the front desk looked terrified and he was on two separate phones he looked a nervous wreck!"
