"We had a lovely stay at the Fox Hall Inn. Great food lovely staff and a peaceful setting. We stayed for three nights and our room overlooked the countryside and good spacious carpark. Our breakfast was brought every morning in a hamper and left outside our door just let the staff know what time. Great stay would highly recommend"

Shoulder of Mutton

"Mark and Lyndsay are the perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The inn is small and informal and faces onto the 12th century churchyard. There is plentiful parking and The Shoulder of Mutton appears to be very popular with the local population. We were upgraded to the annexe which is a real home from home. We had a living room, a bedroom, a small kitchen (containing a microwave oven) and a toilet/bathroom/shower. Kirby Hill is a tiny, quiet village with great views down to Ravensworth village and castle ruins and is only four or five miles from Richmond. Lyndsay's cooking is very special and we both enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners we ate there. This was my third visit, so that should tell you everything about how highly we think of The Shoulder of Mutton Inn!"

The Castle House Luxury Bed & Breakfast

"A very enjoyable stay in this characterful and quite old property. The room was spacious and clean. Some maintenance is required facially but this did not deter us from our evening here. Facilities within town are well within walking distance and parking was relatively effortless, simply pick up a parking disc from a shop for free and you are sorted. A complimentary drink was offered on entering the premises and we accepted these gratefully , although I would advise against the wine and take a different option as it was not pleasant. After a peaceful and quiet sleep breakfast was taken which was very well cooked and tasty too. We met both owners who seem very pleasant and would quite happily return next time. 7/10."

"The Black lion is a lovely pub in the heart of Richmond. Our stay was only for one night, but we had a great time. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was big, with plenty of space to get changed, a nice shower and a comfy bed. The bar was lively and drinks were reasonably priced. The cocktails are excellent and 2 for ยฃ12 we didn't eat at the pub, but the food looked nice. Richmond in north Yorkshire is worth visiting for sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again."

"The hotel is beautiful, the room was stunning, quirky decor which I loved. The bed was huge! And comfy. Was a little disappointed with some little bits. 1 there was a hole in the wall where the door handle had hit it so many times. A metal plate had been fixed to the floor to stop this which was ugly and not in keeping with the room or hotel and the hole not patched up. 2 there was a square section of tiles missing off the bathroom wall and a wooden board in its place. Such a shame as a beautiful bathroom. Robes were in the wardrobe if wanted, lovely touch. Had no remote for the tv but the lovely guy who checked us in searched high and low for one bless him but was unable to. The next day we had one in our room but the tv Chanelโs we could get were Welsh. The Netflix app was foreign so still did f get to watch tv. After a long day walking a cup of tea and wind down bit of tv was what I fancied but was unable to on both nights. Breakfast was gorgeous I had salmon and scrambled egg my partner had full English, he said was perfect. Toast and tea and coffee plus yoghurt fruits and cereals and fruit juice. We never ate here in the evening as was closed on our first day (Monday) and second day we was out till late. The pub across the road the black bull had stunning food and drinks reasonably priced very friendly too. Would come again Reeth is stunning"
