"A really nice room, spotlessly clean, quiet, comfortable bed, everything in the room we needed… a fan, hairdryer, iron, kettle; coffee, tea, fridge, decent sized tv and a really lovely modern bathroom. "We had a suite at the hotel, it was very roomy, full of character and access to a superior breakfast! All well worth the money. Staff were friendly and very helpful too. The only grumble we had, we asked for a fan and there were non available. I've not made this impact the overall stay rating as the weather was unusually extremely hot so the same request had probably came from all rooms - i would say the hotel should have invested in more fans in preparation for the heat wave that week. "Ideal location for us, just a short 10-min walk to the town centre. Our room was spacious and bathroom appeared recently renovated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. As it is a very old building, the floorboards were a bit creaky and woodwork (skirting boards, window frames, architraves) looked tired with their years of layered paint, but we had a comfortable stay. The free parking was a bonus."
