This a good basic hotel. It offers clean comfortable rooms. The reception guy is awesome and helpful. There is no pool or food service on the premises. There are some items for sale in the lobby which are snacks and toiletries and most importantly mosquito spray! The hotel is at an easy distance (disregarding the condition of the pathway) from Long Beach and Coral Beach which there are many restaurants and activities available. The grounds are well maintained as well as the rooms. Cons: Mosquitoes and limited to little to no hot water. Out of 5 days, I had hot water for 3.5 days. The receptionist booked transportation (tractor with trailer) for a pickup and transfer to the pier. This is a big plus if you have a lot of luggage.

We arrived and they gave us free cold water to welcome us. Everything was clean, each room has a desk and is comfortable. We stayed the first nights in a room with AC and fan and the last night in a room with just fan. Both were clean and nice and because of the weather (it rained during a couple of nights) we didn’t even have to use the AC. From Tropicana Inn it is possible to reach Long Beach in 5 mins and coral bay in 5 mins, which is perfect to visit around. We liked it!

I feel this place has had some unfair and harsh reviews in the past. I can of course only base my review on our experience with the room we booked, a triple room with AC. Yes it is a bit of a walk from the long beach jetty and there is a bit of a broken up path with a small incline to the reception but from coral beach the hill is steep. We were greeted at reception by a friendly host and a bottle of water. We found our room to be clean and as the pictures stated, we had a fan and air conditioning and the room was quickly cooled after a hot walk. Our room was unfortunately at the top of another hill but can't be helped given the landscape of the property. The bathroom was acceptable the shower could have been slightly better as it didn't have much pressure but was enough to wash. There was no wifi in the room and the mobile reception is minor and patchy at best but this IS a remote island paradise. If you need entertainment in your room you'd be best to download a series or two but generally browsing internet and social media just about worked on mobile data. The property is a short and fairly easy walk from long beach and its restaurants, shops & bars about 5 mins. It's also a 5-10 minute walk from coral beach which is great for watching sunset but the steep hill is short but sweaty. I think the price of this room is more on the expensive side for basic accommodation but the AC is worth the upgrade as the jungle island is hot & humid. All in all we were happy with the stay

In the middle between Coral Bay and Long beach

The staff are SUPER friendly and really helpful! I needed help to print a few things, it was no problem. They are really good at giving information and advices. If the room if available, when you arrive, you can get early check-in. Really nice! They have luggage storage, and you can get a shower even if you are waiting for a room/have checked out. We didn't got our room cleaned during our 5N stay. That is a long time with no cleaning, no emptying the trash, lot of sand, new towels (our room had no AC, so we needed extra showers). We didn't had any toiletpaper at the room, but we think it was the host who forgot. We just asked at the reception, and got some. Can recommend this place. Note: During the weekends the island have a lot of guests. So if you want to come during a weekend, you need to book your stay (nomatter where) in advance. We booked our stay 3-4 weeks before, and couldn't get a room with AC because some of the days were during a weekend. Can recommend you take the ferry to Coral Bay if you stay here.

Dovrebbe chiamarsi Tropicana hill dato che si trova in cima ad una collina, la stanza era veramente piccola, non c’era spazio per muoversi, presenti in bagno dei simpatici bruchi che ci hanno tenuto compagnia per tutto il soggiorno

El alojamiento estĂĄ bastante bien. No hay que fijarse mucho de las malĂ­simas reviews, son de gente amargada que espera un hotel 4 estrellas. Las habitaciones son espaciosas y con comodidades. El aire acondicionado fue muy bueno. La localizaciĂłn, aunque ligeramente en una colina, es muy buena, con long beach y coral bay super cerca. Recomendamos coger el ferry a coral bay, que aunque la playa estĂĄ un pelĂ­n mĂĄs lejos, el ferry estĂĄ mejor comunicado. CĂłmo punto negativo hay mucha humedad y la ventilaciĂłn no es buena, deberĂ­an ofrecer servicio de limpieza de habitaciones y cambio de toallas cada dos dĂ­as o asĂ­.

NADA RECOMENDABLE!!

Durante nuestra estancia sufrimos un robo dentro de la habitaciĂłn. Al regresar descubrimos que nuestras pertenencias habĂ­an sido revisadas con todo detalle y Ășnicamente desapareciĂł el dinero en efectivo. La puerta estaba cerrada y no mostraba signos de haber sido forzada, lo que genera una gran preocupaciĂłn sobre la seguridad en el establecimiento. La reacciĂłn del hotel ante el incidente fue limitada y no sentimos que hubiera una ayuda real para resolver la situaciĂłn. Finalmente tuvimos que acudir a la policĂ­a y presentar una denuncia formal. Por nuestra experiencia personal, no recomendarĂ­amos este alojamiento a quienes valoren la seguridad de sus pertenencias. Tampoco limpian la habitaciĂłn ningĂșn dĂ­a durante la estancia . El wifi solo funciona si estĂĄs en una zona comĂșn llena de mosquitos. A las habitaciones no llega nada. Si quieres quedarte en Islas Perhentian, te recomiendo elegir cualquier otro alojamiento. OjalĂĄ nosotros lo hubiĂ©ramos hecho. Quedas avisado 😉 AsĂ­ que recomiendo alojarse en cualquier otro sitio que no sea este . NADA RECOMENDABLE

TrĂšs bien pour les Ăźles Perhentian

Il faut savoir que les logements sur les Ăźles sont trĂšs cher et peu qualitatif!! J’ai cherchĂ© un moment avant de rĂ©server ici. J’avais peur d’ĂȘtre déçu et j’ai Ă©tĂ© agrĂ©ablement surprise! J’avais une chambre sans clim mais il y a un gros ventilateur au plafond. Ça rafraĂźchit trĂšs bien de jour comme de nuit . Il y a de l’eau chaude, le lit est bien et une moustiquaire Ă  la fenĂȘtre. L’emplacement est top, entre coral bay et long beach, et c’est calme ! Je ne capte pas la wifi de la chambre mais c’est pas dĂ©rangeant car ici on est tout le temps dehors. Personnel agrĂ©able , ils proposent des excursions

Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Fan (und Fliegengitter) das war von der Temperatur völlig in Ordnung, aber durch die Luftfeuchtigkeit durch Dusche, feuchte Badesachen und die hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit im Regenwald war es unglaublich muffelig und hat gestunken, sehr unangenehm. Ich nehme an, dass es mit Klimaanlage besser ist. Sogar die BĂŒcher haben sich gewellt. WLAN geht nur in der Lobby, was kein Problem wĂ€re, wenn es dort nicht ein Moskito Problem geben wĂŒrde.

Je déconseille fortement

Je dĂ©conseille fortement cet hĂŽtel. Il est situĂ© tout au bout de l’üle, difficile d’accĂšs par une route Ă©troite, non Ă©clairĂ©e, dĂ©labrĂ©e, mal indiquĂ©e et absolument pas sĂ©curisĂ©e. Aucun amĂ©nagement pour les personnes handicapĂ©es ou ĂągĂ©es. L’accueil Ă  la rĂ©ception est froide et peu professionnel, voire inexistant. Les chambres sont sales, vĂ©tustes, mal entretenues et il n’y a aucun service de chambre. Franchement, une trĂšs mauvaise expĂ©rience du dĂ©but Ă  la fin.

Super bien placĂ© entre les 2 plages long beach (3 min)et coral beach (5min), possibilitĂ© de randonnĂ©e Ă  pied jusqu'Ă  Dlagoon (1h) voyage Ă  4 avec 2 ados super sĂ©jour mais il faut reconnaitre que le rapport qualitĂ©/prix est dĂ©cevant Malheureusement aucun rangement pour les vĂȘtements qui ont du restĂ© dans les valises (donc impossible de circuler dans la chambre trop petite)ni espace pour faire sĂ©cher les maillots de bains/serviettes car aucun accĂšs Ă  l'extĂ©rieur depuis la chambre (moustiquaire sur les fenĂȘtres) et salle de bain trĂšs petite donc odeur de moisi dans la chambre aucun mĂ©nage fait ni changement de serviette pendant 6 nuits, les serviettes sentent le moisi et les draps sont tachĂ©s mais propres les chambres pour 4 sont microscopiques, ingĂ©rables avec des ados la derniĂšre nuit nous avions une chambre pour 6 plus spacieuse Ă  4 avec une salle de bain rĂ©novĂ©e

De locatie van dit verblijf is ideaal. Vlakbij Long Beach en toch weg van het geluid van het strand. We hadden een kamer met fan. Daar moesten we even aan wennen, maar was uiteindelijk prima. We hebben het nooit te warm gehad. Het bed en de douche zijn eenvoudig, maar prima. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en als we vroegen om nieuw toiletpapier of een nieuwe handdoek, kregen we dat direct. Ik raad dit verblijf vooral om de perfecte locatie en de vriendelijkheid van het personeel erg aan!

Être en bonne condition physique

L'hĂŽtel est situĂ© dans la forĂȘt tropicale au hauteur d'une sacrĂ©e cĂŽte trĂšs difficile Ă  monter avec des bagages. Il existe des services de porteurs de valises mais l'hĂŽtel ne nous en avait pas informĂ©s avant d'arriver pourtant nous avions envoyĂ© un mail deux jours avant notre arrivĂ©e pour poser la question. Nous avons donc vraiment souffert Ă  monter la cĂŽte avec nos bagages. La chambre Ă©tait en hauteur aussi dans l'hĂŽtel donc vraiment veiller Ă  ĂȘtre en bonne forme physique. Pas de balai pour nettoyer la chambre dont le sol Ă©tait rempli de sable. Pas de mĂ©nage fait en 4 jours c'est dommage surtout pour les serviettes de bain. Sinon le personnel est gentil et serviable. Dans la nuit, des noix de coco tombent violemment sur le toit. Ça peut surprendre et rĂ©veiller. Sinon c'Ă©tait pas mal pour le prix.

Es ist wirklich eine Zweckunterkunft. Man nutzt es nur zum schlafen und duschen. Es liegt genau zwischen Long Beach und Coral Bay, was wirklich ein ultra Pluspunkt ist. Ist auch der einzige Grund, weshalb ich dieses Hotel nochmal buchen wĂŒrde. Die Anreise mit dem Speedboat von Kuala Besut empfiehlt sich ĂŒber Coral Bay (ca. 7 Min Fußweg zur Unterkunft).

Let’s start with the good. This place is conveniently located equidistant to the two main beaches. Around a five minute walk to each. The staff were kind and warm in their behaviour. Now the not so good. This is not a 2.5 star hotel. It’s not even a hotel. It’s back country lodging. For starters, they do not provide toilet paper. You can extrapolate from there. I am not assigning blame to the ownership of the hotel for the 2.5 star rating. I am assigning blame to whomever is responsible for the unstandardized rating system, as well as customers who play into this misinformation, with or without good intentions. The other piece is the walking path. It is extremely perilous at night. Someone is going to get badly hurt, if they haven’t already. At one point, the path turns from relatively flat terrain to stairs. You can’t see the drop off in the dark. A flashlight can solve this problem, but I would not walk it alone if I was a female. Otherwise, I am open to the possibility that this is good value from a supply/demand perspective. I just think it’s only fair that people know what they’re getting into, before they commit.
