"Room was clean overall, but as with most hotels, long hairs were found on carpeting and in the shower. Breakfast was so-so, the selection was basic and the Planter’s Shed couldn’t accommodate the peak number of guests, which led to a ballroom as an extended facility, but it completely lacked the ambience. Pool was also overcrowded, unless you love super active and vocal kids. The pool area was also small, so with non-pool using guests using it as a hangout further crowded the already cramped poolside. In brief, the amenities couldn’t cater for when the hotel is running at high capacity. With these infra constraints, there should be crowd control measures instead of disappointing guests when amenities/resources get overwhelmed."

"Beautiful hotel. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms were brilliant with everything we needed and beds were really comfortable. Filtered water tap in room was good feature as well. Would definitely recommend to family and friends and we would stay here again."

"Checking in and out was a breeze. Staff were friendly and helpful, housekeeping was timely too. The room was very spacious and nice colonial design which makes it memorable and cozy. We were given a free upgrade due to the construction work next door. Pool was of a good size and not over crowded. Our stay was very enjoyable on the whole. Only thing for improvement are to provide bidget in toilet and a more comprehensive array of tea & coffee with higher quality."

"Room is ok kinda small for us with 2 small children even though we book a room that fit 2 adult and 2 children but our 2 luggage hard to find place to open as it has a sofa bed , a coffee table and big table right Infront of the TV. "we stayed in 2 seaview rooms on the 10 flr with two grandchildren. The view is fantastic, rooms are functional, well kept and clean. Our 3 yrs old grandson son enjoyed the swimming pool and the beach. It’s my nth stay at this hotel and have brought my children here when they were young and also a few company retreats here. There is no lack of activities for the kids. Breakfast was very good with among the most number of choices of food. Besides the kid’s corner, there is a baby corner too - well thought out - must be commended. There is a total of 7 coffee machines - no queue - queuing for coffee is a typical issue in many hotel. Also all food stations are manned by chefs and there is plentiful of service staff helping customers. We stayed at banyan mandai rainforest resort in Singapore a month earlier. in comparison, banyan has many teething issues, breakfast and service are at best mediocre. Banyan is also overpriced 600+ per room versus shangri-la less than 500."
