Been to Puerto Plata three times. Stayed here each time. I enjoyed my stay. They keep the rooms clean. The pool is really nice. The hotel is close to the beach. If you are looking for nice, clean hotel with a good price. Look no further, I recommend the Diamond Boutique.

The property would get a full 5 star review except for a few things: 1) There is trash on the beach and outside the property, which is really no fault of theirs, but it's more than just 1-2 pieces of trash. It's not unbearable but it's there 2) The shower head is nice but the flow of water isn't very good and the water temperature was hard to control 3) The security box in my room didn't have clear instructions and didn't seem to work That's pretty much it. Outside that, this is an amazing vacation spot. I'll probably be going being despite the issues. Customer service was amazing and the atmosphere is absolutely perfect for a private place to settle down at night.

We read the reviews prior to booking, so we knew what we were getting. Overall we had a nice stay, as we were literally only there to sleep. We did go in the pool a few times, which was large and adequate. The lounge/bar area was what we expected. Margot the host was very pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. And having some drinks there at the end of the day was convenient. The adjacent beach wasn’t usable during our time there based on the tides and shifting sands. But that didn’t matter to us. The area in general is out of the way, but no too far. We never felt unsafe. We actually liked being more ‘local’ than the other resorts in Sosua. The room was worn and tired, and we never had warm water. But again, we expected much of what we got. So there were no surprises. I liked the overall condition and vibe, since we felt we could do what we want without offending anyone. Everyone associated with the hotel were nice and helpful. If I make it back to the DR, and Sosua in general, I would consider staying here again..
