We had a decent experience staying at this resort. It was not very clear initially that this was a vacation rental property (no restaurants or other food amenities on site, extra cost for room service, limited staff on site, etc). Luckily we read some of the reviews and knew to bring our own food, otherwise it would have been a disaster. The aesthetics of the room were excellent, however it wasn't as clean as we would have liked (hair found in bathrooms, shower, patio tub, etc). We were surprised to find out that as guests of Encanto Living we also got access to the Grand Maya amenities -- this was the saving grace of our trip as we spent most of our daytime hours at the Hotel Maya pool, beach, etc and very much enjoyed it (very nice). Overall, the property is a little bit run down, isn't as clean as we would have liked, and is 30 min away from the city (either good or bad depending on your preference), however it is still a strong value considering the price.
